VANHELGD – Atropos Doctrina (CD 2024)

O VANHELGD é uma das minhas bandas suecas favoritas da atualidade. Tenho praticamente todos os seus lançamentos em minha coleção e esperava com ansiedade o lançamento do seu novo álbum, “Atropos Doctrina”, o sexto álbum de sua discografia.

A banda mais uma vez não desapontou os seus fãs e lançou aqui um dos seus melhores trabalhos. “Atropos Doctrina” é um álbum de death metal sueco, mas que não reflete os clichês que esse título carrega muitas vezes. O som da banda tem personalidade e flerta pesadamente com um feeling obscuro e uma melodia desesperadora que impõem respeito e criam atmosferas realmente densas em suas composições.

Algo que gosto muito é o lado mais incontido do vocal da banda. Não é apenas gutural, é desesperador também. Isso sem mantém por todas as oito composições que fazem parte do álbum.

Todas as músicas são extremamente pesadas, há momentos mais rápidos, mas a morbidez e o sentimento de tristeza permeiam os riffs com intensidade, o que molda um metal da morte poderoso. Em alguns momentos essa sonoridade se torna tão obscura e intensa que se aproxima do black metal, mas sem cruzar essa linha tênue.

O que impressiona é que tudo é intenso mas sem precisar se valer da brutalidade como ferramenta principal. Ela se apresenta em momentos oportunos, mas as cortinas se abrem para outras qualidades.

As faixas que poderia destacar são: “Saliga äro de dödfödda”, “Kom dödens tysta ängel” (música poderosíssima), “Galgdanstid” e “Kerernas törst”.

Destaco também a belíssima e obscura arte da capa, que mantém a interpretação artística das últimas capas da banda.

“Atropos Doctrina” é mais um álbum sólido desses suecos e mantém sua música em um alto patamar de qualidade. Infelizmente o VANHELGD é uma banda que continua com a sua discografia não lançada em solo brasileiro e isso é uma lástima. Os death metal maníacos do nosso país com certeza iriam gostar dessa banda. Vamos torcer para que algum selo se prontifique a realizar esse lançamento.

VANHELGD is one of my favorite Swedish bands today. I have almost all of their releases in my collection and have been eagerly awaiting the release of their new album, “Atropos Doctrina”, the sixth album in their discography.

The band has once again not disappointed its fans and has released one of its best works. “Atropos Doctrina” is a Swedish death metal album, but it doesn’t reflect the clichés that this title often carries. The band’s sound has personality and flirts heavily with a dark feeling and a desperate melody that command respect and create really dense atmospheres in their compositions.

Something I really like is the more unrestrained side of the band’s vocals. It’s not just guttural, it’s desperate too. That goes without saying for all eight compositions on the album.

All the songs are extremely heavy, there are faster moments, but the morbidity and the feeling of sadness permeate the riffs with intensity, which shapes a powerful death metal. At times this sound becomes so dark and intense that it approaches black metal, but without crossing that fine line.

What’s impressive is that everything is intense, but without having to use brutality as the main tool. It appears at opportune moments, but the curtains open to other qualities.

The tracks I could highlight are: “Saliga äro de dödfödda”, “Kom dödens tysta ängel” (a very powerful song), “Galgdanstid” and “Kerernas törst”.

I’d also like to highlight the beautiful, dark cover art, which maintains the artistic interpretation of the band’s latest covers.

“Atropos Doctrina” is another solid album from these Swedes and keeps their music at a high level of quality. Unfortunately, VANHELGD‘s discography remains unreleased on Brazilian soil and that’s a shame. The death metal maniacs in our country would certainly enjoy this band. Let’s hope that some label is willing to release it.
