VADER – Humanihility (Adv. MCD 2025)

Tenho que admitir que não acompanho mais a carreira do VADER como costumava fazer há muitos anos atrás. Os primeiros álbuns desses caras são matadores. Recebi recentemente esse novo EP, que será lançado no próximo dia 30 de Maio e fiquei bastante surpreso e animado com aquilo que eu ouvi.

Primeiramente o VADER que sempre esteve na minha mente foi aquela banda que lançou o matador “The Ultimate Incantation”. Eu sei que isso já tem exatos 33 anos, mas ficou marcado para mim como um grande álbum, um death metal que mistura com maestria esse estilo com algo de thrash, criando um trabalho que transbordava brutalidade e intensidade.

“Humanihility” me agradou imensamente exatamente por trazer de volta muita daquela energia dos primórdios do VADER. A faixa de abertura “Genocide Designed” é uma verdadeira pancadaria liderada por riffs de guitarra realmente matadores. A bateria dita um ritmo alucinante e a produção sonora dessa faixa é excelente. É uma música para bater cabeça insanamente.

A próxima é “Rampage” segue abraçando o mesmo caos e é mais um intenso death metal polonês com a marca registrada VADER gravada em ferro e fogo. Algumas partes de guitarra são totalmente características da banda e seria possível reconhecer que são os caras tocando mesmo sem maiores informações.

A terceira e última música é “Unbending” que tem uma abordagem diferente das duas primeiras, focando mais no peso avassalador do que propriamente na velocidade. Apesar de não soar tão rápida, é uma grande composição.

A arte desse trabalho é assinada pelo artista brasileiro Marcelo Vasco e o disco foi produzido por Scott Atkins, no Grindstone Studio, UK. Vale salientar que esse trabalho marca o retorno o guitarrista Mauser, que havia saído do grupo em 2008 e retornou em 2024.

I have to admit that I no longer follow VADER‘s career as much as I used to many years ago. Their first albums were killer. I recently received this new EP, which will be released on May 30th, and I was very surprised and excited by what I heard.

First of all, the VADER that was always on my mind was the band that released the killer “The Ultimate Incantation”. I know it’s exactly 33 years old, but it stands out for me as a great album, a death metal that masterfully blends this style with something of thrash, creating a work that overflowed with brutality and intensity.

“Humanihility” pleased me immensely precisely because it brought back a lot of that energy from VADER’s early days. The opening track “Genocide Designed” is a real pummeling led by really killer guitar riffs. The drums dictate a breakneck rhythm and the sound production on this track is excellent. It’s a song to bang your head to insanely.

The next track, “Rampage”, continues to embrace the same chaos and is another intense Polish death metal with the VADER trademark etched in iron and fire. Some of the guitar parts are totally characteristic of the band and you’d be able to recognize that it’s the guys playing even without more information.

The third and final song is “Unbending”, which takes a different approach from the first two, focusing more on overwhelming heaviness than speed. Although it doesn’t sound as fast, it’s a great composition.

The artwork is by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco and the album was produced by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studio, UK. It is worth noting that this work marks the return of guitarist Mauser, who had left the group in 2008 and returned in 2024.
