Ouvir um novo lançamento dos finlandeses do ROTTEN SOUND é sempre ser atingido por uma música brutal, direta e sem concessões de qualquer tipo. É grindcore tocado por quem entende da coisa.
“Mass Extinction” é um excelente título se levarmos em conta o momento em que estamos vivendo no nosso país e no mundo. Parece que a cada diz que respiramos estamos nos aproximando mais de nosso último inverno. O ROTTEN SOUND vomita um álbum que nos atinge forte com os temas que são aqui abordados. Segundo a própria banda: desinformação, polarização, teorias da conspiração e censura que deixaram todos carentes de confiança e/ou esperança.
Um bom trabalho de grindcore não poderia se apresentado em forma de composições longas e é por isso que “Mass Extinction” conta com 8 faixas, que são tocadas com ódio em pouco mais de 9 minutos de duração. Isso é perfeito. Não deixa espaço para bullshit… é uma porrada atrás da outra. Não há como destacar faixas. A experiência tem que ser apreciada de forma completa, do início ao fim, se deixando atingir pela violência desse lançamento, que carece de uma longa duração, mas oferece pura agressão.
O ROTTEN SOUND deixa seu cartão de visitas para o público de 2025 e deixa o ouvinte com a vontade de ouvir um novo álbum completo, já que o último foi lançado em 2023. Mas enquanto isso não chega atinja seus tímpanos com uma tempestade finlandesa.

Listening to a new release by Finland’s Rotten Sound always means being struck by brutal, direct music with absolutely no compromises. This is grindcore played by those who truly understand the craft.
“Mass Extinction” is an excellent title considering the moment we are living in, both in our country and around the world. It feels as if with every day we breathe, we are moving closer to our last winter. Rotten Sound unleashes an album that hits hard with the themes addressed here. According to the band itself: disinformation, polarization, conspiracy theories, and censorship have left everyone deprived of trust and/or hope.
A solid grindcore release could never be presented through long compositions, and that is why “Mass Extinction” features eight tracks delivered with fury in just over nine minutes. It’s perfect. There’s no room for bullshit — it’s one blow after another. There’s no point in highlighting individual tracks. The experience must be appreciated as a whole, from beginning to end, allowing yourself to be struck by the violence of this release, which may lack length but delivers pure aggression.
Rotten Sound leaves its calling card for the 2025 audience and leaves listeners eager for a new full-length album, since the last one was released in 2023. But until that arrives, let your eardrums be assaulted by a Finnish storm.
