A banda paulista Trovão foi formada em 2018 e lançou seu álbum de estreia, Prisioneiro do Rock ‘n’ Roll, em 2021. Com um crescimento tranquilo e gradual, a banda vem conquistando seu espaço na cena musical brasileira. Gustavo Trovão, anteriormente integrante da respeitada banda Selvageria, deixou sua marca ao lado dos ex-companheiros, participando da gravação de dois álbuns clássicos do heavy speed metal brasileiro: Selvageria (2009) e Ataque Selvagem (2017), além de demos e splits.
No Selvageria o som é um trabalho que resgata o clássico metal dos anos 80, mais rápido e agressivo. Já com o Trovão, o som tem uma proposta de resgatar o início da cena brasileira, principalmente por ser letras em português. No entanto, o instrumental, a proposta continua sendo o som dos anos 80, porém com uma pegada mais hard ‘n’ heavy metal e muitas passagens de AOR, esteticamente com aquele visual mais espalhafatoso tão comum nas bandas oitentistas inglesas da época.
A banda Trovão é composta por músicos que já participaram ou ainda estão envolvidos com outros grupos musicais. Como já mencionado, o vocalista Gustavo, junto com Alexandre Gatti e Igor Senna nas guitarras, Lucas Chuluc no baixo, Luke Couto nos teclados e Alan Caçador na bateria, formam essa talentosa banda.
Três anos após o lançamento de seu primeiro álbum, a banda apresenta seu segundo trabalho, intitulado Diamante (2025), que foi lançado pela gravadora Classic Metal Records. É importante destacar o compromisso deste selo em apoiar e respeitar as bandas nacionais.
É um desafio escrever uma resenha sobre um álbum tão maravilhoso e perfeito quanto este, lançado pela banda paulista Trovão. Peço desculpas pelo trocadilho, mas de fato, este disco é um verdadeiro diamante. Assim como um diamante, ele é um luxo, brilha intensamente e é raro!
São 9 faixas que totalizam 36 minutos de hard ‘n’ heavy contagiante, energético e nostálgico, uma verdadeira viagem no tempo, levando-nos direto para os anos 80! Se você é fã de Saxon, Judas Priest, Dokken, Ratt, Motley Crue e ainda aprecia influências de AOR (Album-Oriented Rock), com uma vibe positiva e melodias refinadas, vai adorar!
O disco começa com uma energia contagiante nas faixas matadoras: ‘Preso Ao Passado’, ‘Seres Da Noite’, ‘Trovão’ e ‘Até O Fim’. Todas são empolgantes, com riffs impressionantes e uma cozinha com baixo e bateria que entrega um trabalho fantástico! No gênero hard ‘n’ heavy, é comum que os vocalistas tenham um canto alto e melódico, com alguns gritos que podem ser cansativos. Gustavo Trovão possui essas características em sua voz, mas de uma forma mais agressiva. Além disso, suas composições são marcantes e ficam na cabeça do ouvinte, com refrões poderosos!
Riffs cativantes e a presença de teclados e sintetizadores que evocam toda a atmosfera melódica e oitentista do rock de arena.
É importante ressaltar o riff de abertura da faixa Trovão, que nos lembra os ingleses do Saxon e os alemães do Accept.
É inegável que a produção de Rodrigo Toledo, realizada entre maio de 2024 e fevereiro de 2025, contribuiu significativamente para a qualidade deste magnífico “diamante” . Para quem não conhece a banda, pode ser fácil acreditar que este disco ou a própria banda é da nostálgica década dos anos 80.
Esse álbum é incrivelmente envolvente! Aqueles que apreciam o estilo sonoro do Trovão certamente vão se apaixonar por ele. É um verdadeiro deleite e tem tudo para se tornar um clássico do heavy metal brasileiro. O disco traz canções como ‘Olhos da Cidade’, uma power ballad que começa de forma suave, com destaque para os teclados, e vai se intensificando até explodir em um refrão poderoso: ‘A meia noiteeee’, acompanhado de um teclado com um solo de guitarra repleto de emoção e técnica.
A próxima música é Diamante que dá nome ao disco e segue com o cover de uma banda que infelizmente, nunca ouvi falar e fui procurar no YouTube e gostei bastante!
A banda Vapor, de fato, influenciou o Trovão e gravou a música Não Lembre Mais De Mim. Essa reinterpretação se encaixou bem no álbum, com o Trovão homenageando os pioneiros do metal carioca e apresentando o nome da banda Vapor às novas gerações.
Chegamos ao final do álbum com as duas últimas faixas: Sociedade Corrompida e Insanidade. Sociedade Corrompida é uma música maravilhosa do começo ao fim, com riffs pesados e um refrão impactante!
E encerrando com maestria, temos Insanidade, uma faixa com guitarras incríveis! A banda Trovão demonstra que o heavy metal pode, sim, ser cantado em nossa língua portuguesa e ainda ter influências dos anos 80. Com criatividade, respeito às raízes do gênero e suas influências, conseguem criar um som único com identidade própria em meio a clichês, algo reservado para poucos!
O Trovão participará, em agosto de 2026, do renomado festival alemão Keep In True Legions, representando o Brasil ao lado das lendárias bandas Savatage, Metal Church, Crimson Glory, entre outras do cenário mundial do heavy metal.

The São Paulo-based band Trovão was formed in 2018 and released their debut album, Prisioneiro do Rock ‘n’ Roll, in 2021. With steady and gradual growth, the band has been carving out its place in the Brazilian music scene. Gustavo Trovão, formerly a member of the respected band Selvageria, left his mark alongside his former bandmates, taking part in the recording of two classic Brazilian heavy speed metal albums: Selvageria (2009) and Ataque Selvagem (2017), as well as demos and splits.
In Selvageria, the sound is rooted in classic ’80s metal—faster and more aggressive. With Trovão, however, the proposal is to revive the early days of the Brazilian scene, especially through lyrics in Portuguese. Nevertheless, instrumentally, the approach still draws heavily from the ’80s, but with a more hard ’n’ heavy metal edge and many AOR passages, along with that flashy aesthetic so common among English bands of the era.
Trovão is made up of musicians who have participated in or are still involved with other musical projects. As mentioned earlier, vocalist Gustavo, alongside Alexandre Gatti and Igor Senna on guitars, Lucas Chuluc on bass, Luke Couto on keyboards, and Alan Caçador on drums, form this talented lineup.
Three years after the release of their first album, the band presents their second effort, titled Diamante (2025), released by the label Classic Metal Records. It is worth highlighting this label’s commitment to supporting and respecting national bands.
It is a challenge to write a review of an album as wonderful and flawless as this one by Trovão. Apologies for the pun, but this record is truly a diamond. Like a diamond, it is luxurious, shines brightly, and is rare!
There are nine tracks totaling 36 minutes of infectious, energetic, and nostalgic hard ’n’ heavy—a true time machine that takes us straight back to the 1980s! If you are a fan of Saxon, Judas Priest, Dokken, Ratt, Mötley Crüe, and also appreciate AOR (Album-Oriented Rock) influences, with a positive vibe and refined melodies, you will love it!
The album kicks off with contagious energy through killer tracks such as “Preso Ao Passado,” “Seres Da Noite,” “Trovão,” and “Até O Fim.” All of them are exciting, featuring impressive riffs and a rhythm section (bass and drums) that delivers outstanding work. In the hard ’n’ heavy genre, it is common for vocalists to have a high-pitched, melodic style with occasional screams that can become tiring. Gustavo Trovão possesses these traits, but in a more aggressive manner. Moreover, his compositions are memorable and stick with the listener, with powerful choruses.
Captivating riffs and the presence of keyboards and synthesizers evoke the full melodic, ’80s arena rock atmosphere.
It is worth emphasizing the opening riff of the track “Trovão,” which recalls the English band Saxon and the German band Accept.
There is no denying that the production by Rodrigo Toledo, carried out between May 2024 and February 2025, contributed significantly to the quality of this magnificent “diamond.” For those unfamiliar with the band, it would be easy to believe that this record—or even the band itself—comes straight from the nostalgic 1980s.
This album is incredibly engaging! Those who appreciate Trovão’s sound will certainly fall in love with it. It is a true delight and has everything it takes to become a classic of Brazilian heavy metal. The album features songs such as “Olhos da Cidade,” a power ballad that begins softly, with emphasis on the keyboards, and gradually intensifies until it explodes into a powerful chorus: “À meia-noiteeee,” accompanied by keyboards and an emotional, technically rich guitar solo.
The next track is “Diamante,” which gives the album its name, followed by a cover of a band I had unfortunately never heard of before—I looked them up on YouTube and really enjoyed it!
The band Vapor indeed influenced Trovão and originally recorded the song “Não Lembre Mais De Mim.” This reinterpretation fits perfectly within the album, with Trovão paying tribute to the pioneers of Rio de Janeiro’s metal scene while introducing the band Vapor to new generations.
We reach the end of the album with the final two tracks: “Sociedade Corrompida” and “Insanidade.” “Sociedade Corrompida” is a wonderful song from beginning to end, with heavy riffs and an impactful chorus.
Closing things masterfully, “Insanidade” features incredible guitar work! Trovão proves that heavy metal can indeed be sung in Portuguese while still carrying strong ’80s influences. With creativity, respect for the genre’s roots, and its influences, they manage to create a unique sound with their own identity amid clichés—something only a few can achieve.
Trovão will take part in the renowned German festival Keep It True Legions in August 2026, representing Brazil alongside legendary bands such as Savatage, Metal Church, Crimson Glory, and others from the global heavy metal scene.
