SEPULCHRAL VOICE zine # 10 (2023)
Começo essa resenha citando uma frase do Jone da banda Jacau, da Bahia. “Quem pede muito aparece pouco”. Infelizmente, é uma frase pesada! Mas é verdade. Tem muita gente envolvida no Underground que sabe cobrar, sabe vender seu peixe, apoiar e comprar o peixe dos outros é outra história…
Mas também existem muitos outros que não aparecem, mas que fazem as coisas acontecerem. É o caso do amigo André Chaves e seu grandioso trabalho com o Sepulchral Voice Zine, que chega à décima edição impressa do seu artefato. 16 anos divulgando o submundo metálico nas sepulcrais páginas.
Nas últimas edições do S.V.Z. (7, 8,9,10) ele investiu em um novo layout e deu uma cara nova ao seu trabalho. Nestas quatro s últimas edições o zine vem em formato livro, em couchê, capa colorida e as fontes das letras muito boa para quem já passou dos 40 e tem dificuldade para ler. Aliás, é uma leitura prazerosa com muito conteúdo e uma viagem ao submundo.
Nesta edição André contou com a colaboração de alguns amigos que vivem no Underground e curte as escritas subversivas e inclusive esse que vos escreve, ficou muito feliz de fazer parte desta edição entrevistando os baianos do Töhil.
Entrevista com os chilenos, Rotten Tomb e Frozen Blood. (Inclusive tem a resenha do EP “Revenge”, lançado recentemente no Brasil,aqui no site) Tem também uma entrevista com as americanas da Derkéta banda feminina de Death Metal.
Representando o cenário brasileiro as bandas: Dreadful Deathreign, Megahertz, Mordeth, Echoes Of Death, Tormentador. Outras três entrevistas muito boas e super interessante com os brasileiros do Sade e o Jacau mostrando que o submundo não é para qualquer enrustido, defensores de governo cristão e do Deus acima de tudo, posers, white metal, metaleirinhos de rede social. E sim, para verdadeiros amantes do Underground, que entenderam o que é o metal e o que ele representa. Metal/Underground é resistência contra o status quo, ou seja: postura! Radicalismo consciente e manter seus valores acima de tudo!
A terceira entrevista interessante e que me chamou atenção foi com meu amigo Fernando Camacho do selo joinvilense Black Hole Productions, eu não sabia que a história do selo começou lá no século passado, mais precisamente no ano de 1985, com um garoto que adorava Heavy Metal, filmes de terror e editou um zine que depois virou um dos selos mais importantes do Brasil relacionado ao metal extremo. Outra conversa interessante com o músico & escritor Anderson Chakal e o fanzineiro das antigas Renato Rosatti, contando tudo sob o e-book “Memórias dos Fanzines” eles mergulharam de cabeça no submundo para registrar as histórias subversivas dos fanzines brasileiros.
Outra matéria interessante e já é tradicional no Sepulchral Voice Zine e que sempre nos apresenta uma análise profunda sob álbuns clássicos lançados no passado é a seção “Buried,But Not Forgotten” que dessa vez nos traz duas pedradas do metal sul-americano. A primeira banda e álbum comentado e analisado é o play “Tribulated Bells”, (1992) dos chilenos do Sadism. Não conhecia essa banda e hoje pela facilidade das plataformas de streaming fui pesquisar no Spotify e me deparei com uma grande banda e um álbum obscuro, agressivo de Death Metal old school e se não conhecem procurem. Obra-prima!
A segunda banda e play comentado é dos mineiros do Mutilator e o clássico “Immortal Force”, (1987) e ainda tem um belo bate – papo rico em detalhes com Ricardo Neves baixista da banda.
Como sempre, o S.V.Z. nos enche de orgulho e registra para eternidade a atual cena underground em suas páginas e ainda vem um pôster da capa do zine que lembra muito os clássicos, cartaz dos filmes slasher dos anos 80 e que vou emoldurá-lo e colocá-lo na minha sala.
E como diz Necrosadic, na entrevista desta edição, “Somos grandes entusiastas de tudo aquilo que tange o universo do erotismo, da contracultura, da poesia marginalizada, do niilismo, da Thelema e até do satanismo de Lavey. Por essas e outras que o Underground é para indivíduos fortes e não para cristão, infiltrados e seus pensamentos conservadores, o metal é acima de tudo liberdade! Viva o Underground! Viva a resistência aos zines!

I start this review by quoting a quote from Jone from the band Jacau, from Bahia. “Those who ask for a lot show up little.” Unfortunately, it’s a heavy phrase! But it’s true. There are a lot of people involved in the Underground who know how to charge, know how to sell their fish, support and buy other people’s fish is another story…
But there are also many others who don’t appear, but who make things happen. This is the case of my friend André Chaves and his great work with Sepulchral Voice Zine, which reaches the tenth printed edition of his artifact. 16 years disclosing the metallic underworld in the sepulchral pages.
The last three editions of S.V.Z. (8,9,10) André invested in a new layout and gave his work a new look. In these last three editions, the zine comes in book format, in couché, colorful cover and the fonts of the letters are very good for those who are over 40 and have difficulty reading. In fact, it is a pleasant read with a lot of content and a journey to the underworld.
In this edition André had the collaboration of some friends who live in the Underground and enjoy subversive writings and including the one who writes to you, he was very happy to be part of this edition interviewing the Bahians from Töhil.
Interview with the Chileans, Rotten Tomb and Frozen Blood. (Including a review of the EP “Revenge”, recently released in Brazil) There is also an interview with the American women’s Death Metal band Derkéta.

Three other very good and super interesting interviews with the Brazilians Sade and Jacau showing that the underworld is not for the closet, defenders of the Christian government and God above all, posers, white metal, social media metalheads. And yes, for true Underground lovers, who understand what metal is and what it represents. Metal/Underground is resistance against the status quo, in other words: posture! Conscious radicalism and keeping your values above all else
The third interesting interview that caught my attention was with my friend Fernando Camacho from the Joinville label Black Hole Productions, I didn’t know that the history of the label began way back in the last century, more precisely in 1985, with a boy who loved Heavy Metal , horror films and edited a zine that later became one of the most important labels in Brazil related to extreme metal. Another interesting conversation with musician & writer Anderson Chakal and old-school fanziner Renato Rosatti, telling everything under the e-book “Memórias dos Fanzines” as they dove headlong into the underworld to record the subversive stories of Brazilian fanzines.
Another interesting article that is already traditional on Sepulchral Voice Zine and that always presents us with an in-depth analysis of classic albums released in the past is the “Buried, But Not Forgotten” section, which this time brings us two highlights of South American metal. The first band and album commented and analyzed is the play “Tribulated Bells”, (1992) by the Chileans from Sadism. I didn’t know this band and today, due to the ease of streaming media, I searched on Spotify and came across a great band and an album of dark, aggressive old school Death Metal and if you don’t know it, look it up. Masterpiece!
The second band and play discussed is from Mutilator from Minas Gerais and the classic “Immortal Force, (1987) and there is also a beautiful chat rich in details with Ricardo Neves, the band’s bassist.
As always, the S.V.Z. it fills us with pride and records the current underground scene for eternity in its pages and there is also a poster of the cover of the zine that is very reminiscent of the classics, a poster for slasher films from the 80s and I am going to frame it and put it in my living room .
And as Necrosadic says, in this edition’s interview, “We are great enthusiasts of everything that concerns the universe of eroticism,
counterculture, marginalized poetry, nihilism, Thelema and even Lavey Satanism.” For these and other reasons, Underground is for strong individuals and not for Christians, infiltrators and their conservative thoughts, metal is above all freedom! Long live the Underground! Long live the resistance to zines!
