Imundície sem fim, músicas batizadas com títulos insólitos e muito divertimento descompromissado e irreverente. Esse é o pacote básico oferecido pelo SCUMSLAUGHT no seu mini álbum de estreia “Knives and Amphetamines”, previsto para o final de junho via “Calegari Records” em CDs e fitas cassete.
A banda foi formada no infame 2020 em Rennes, na França, composta como um Power Trio de veteranos de respeito: O guitarrista e vocalista “Kev Desecrator” (DESTRÖYER 666, VENEFIXION), o baixista “Jon Whiplash” (SÉPULCHRE, ex-SKELETHAL) e o batera “Léo Brard” (ex-CADAVERIC FUMES).
O som dos caras é um Thrash Metal diabolicamente mesclado com Black, proto-Death, Crust Punk e D-Beat, resultando em um pequeno artefato nuclear, sujo, cáustico e, sobretudo, divertido de ouvir, que desce fácil.
O Play conta com nove faixas, todas bastante diretas e curtas, totalizando pouco mais de vinte e dois minutos de duração. Exceção feita à última faixa, que possui um trecho ao vivo e bate os cinco minutos.
A faixa título abre o EP, e o que se ouve são riffs crus e afiados, baixo pesadão, bem na cara, e bateria tocada com ódio, como se fosse a última vez. Os vocais rasgados soam tóxicos, alcoolizados e perfeitos para o objetivo do trio. Leads e solos velozes e bem construídos, som super empolgante.
Outros destaques em meio à podreira são “Baptized in Piss”, com suas linhas fudidas de baixo, momentos cadenciados delirantes e guitarras caóticas; “Dirty Whore 666” com os melhores riffs do EP, e as espetaculares “Born in a Sewer” e “Emesis Bile”, que deixam a velocidade um pouco de lado e seguem cativantes do início ao fim. “Aching Jaw” é demência pura, um Scania carregado e desgovernado, morro abaixo.
Uma memorável estreia do SCUMSLAUGHT, o tipo de Thrash Metal intoxicante e deturpado, que induz à desordem e ao quebra-quebra, e que o fanático por Metal Extremo curte no século 21. Reúna os amigos, prepare uma boa rodada de cerveja e cachaça, pois o headbanging desenfreado e as rodas suicidas estão prestes a começar.

Endless filth, wacky song titles and loads of uncompromising, irreverent fun. This is the name of the game on SCUMSLAUGHT’s debut mini album “Knives and Amphetamines”, due out in late June via “Calegari Records”, on CDs and cassette tapes.
The band was formed during the infamous 2020 in Rennes, France, composed as a most respectable Power Trio: Guitarist and vocalist “Kev Desecrator” (DESTRÖYER 666, VENEFIXION), bassist “Jon Whiplash” (SÉPULCHRE, ex-SKELETHAL) and drummer “Léo Brard” (ex-CADAVERIC FUMES).
The trio’s sound is a lethal brand of thrash metal, devilishly mixed with Black, proto-Death, Crust Punk and D-Beat, resulting in a small nuclear device, remarkably dirty, caustic and, above all, a great, fun listen.
The EP packs nine tracks, all of them quite direct and short, totaling over twenty-two minutes. Exception made to the last track, which has a live section and reaches five minutes.
The title track opens the mini album, and what you get are raw and sharp riffs, heavy, in your face bass, and crushing drums, furiously played like there’s no tomorrow. The extreme vocals sound toxic, drunken and pissed-off, just perfect for accomplishing the trio’s purpose. Fast and sharp leads and solos, a super exciting sound.
Other highlights amidst the smut are “Baptized in Piss”, with its debauched, crazy bass lines, delirious cadenced moments, and chaotic guitars; “Dirty Whore 666” with the album’s best riffs and the spectacular “Born in a Sewer” and “Emesis Bile“, both of which set the speed a bit aside and remain compelling, from start to finish. “Aching Jaw” is pure madness, like a big-ass, fully loaded truck going downhill, without breaks.
Memorable debut by SCUMSLAUGHT, the kind of intoxicating and twisted Thrash Metal that screams mayhem and depravity, and which extreme metal fanatics, like me, enjoy in the 21st century. Gather your friends, get a good round of beer and cachaça going (or vodka, tequila, whatever is your poison), cause berserk headbanging is about to commence.
