PODRIDÃO / CONVULSIVE – Convulsively Rotteness (Split CD 2024)

Corram para as colinas ! Tirem as crianças da sala e as enterrem vivas no quintal. Dois dos nomes mais podres da atual cena death metal brasileira resolveram se arrastar para fora de seus pútridos abrigos e criar um split CD que, para mim, já tá na lista dos melhores lançamentos nacionais de 2024.

Tanto o Podridão quanto o Convulsive tem conquistado seu espaço com uma sonoridade imunda, mas com uma qualidade ímpar na criação do seu metal da morte. O split começa com os paulista do PODRIDÃO e posso dizer que a banda melhorou ainda mais e o que fizeram aqui é absolutamente fudido. Um death metal pegajoso, rastejante e imundo, com influências mais do que evidentes do não menos abominável Autopsy.

A produção as músicas do PODRIDÃO está muito boa, o que faz você perceber todos os detalhes das cinco faixas que a banda gravou aqui. “Tomb of Repugnant Stench”, “Bind, Torture, Kill”, “Blood Squirting”, Bacterial Growth” e “Praise for the Ancient Death” mostram o porque a banda é tão respeitada dentro da cena nacional. A minha música preferida é a violenta “Bacterial Growth”.

Quando a destruição em massa causada pelo PODRIDÃO se encerra e você imagina que a coisa não pode piorar, o CONVULSIVE chega promovendo um banho de sangue com seu death metal totalmente velha escola americana. É como você ouvisse um híbrido de Baphomet, Morpheus Descends, velho Vital Remains e Death (dos primórdios). O vocal aqui é oriundo diretamente das catacumbas. Também com cinco composições, o CONVULSIVE oferece uma pútrida experiência com as faixas “Demoni”, “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”, “The Dead Walk”, “Return of the Living Dead” e “Re-Sonator”.

Eu já falei muito sobre como considero o formato split algo que representa de forma perfeita o conceito de underground e “Convulsevely Rotteness” é exatamente isso. Esse material deveria ter saido no ano passado, mas por problemas com a gravadora original só agora em 2024 o lançamento foi possível com a entrada da Kill Again Records em campo. Felizmente para nós, já que tanto o PODRIDÃO quanto o CONVULSIVE entregam aqui um álbum de death metal com qualidade irrefutável.

Run to the hills! Get the kids out of the living room and bury them alive in the backyard. Two of the most rotten names in the current Brazilian death metal scene have decided to crawl out of their putrid shelters and create a split CD that, for me, is already on the list of the best national releases of 2024.

Both Podridão and Convulsive have conquered their space with a filthy sound, but with unrivalled quality in the creation of their death metal. The split begins with São Paulo’s PODRIDÃO and I can tell you that the band has improved even more and what they’ve done here is absolutely fucked up. Sticky, crawling, filthy death metal, with more than obvious influences from the no less abominable Autopsy.

The production of PODRIDÃO‘s songs is very good, which makes you realise all the details of the five tracks the band has recorded here. “Tomb of Repugnant Stench”, “Bind, Torture, Kill”, “Blood Squirting”, “Bacterial Growth” and “Praise for the Ancient Death” show why the band is so respected within the national scene. My favourite song is the violent “Bacterial Growth”.

When the mass destruction caused by PODRIDÃO comes to an end and you think it can’t get any worse, CONVULSIVE arrives promoting a bloodbath with their totally old-school American death metal. It’s like listening to a hybrid of Baphomet, Morpheus Descends, old Vital Remains and Death (from the early days). The vocals here come straight from the catacombs. Also with five compositions, CONVULSIVE offers a putrid experience with the tracks “Demoni”, “Let Sleeping Corpses Lie”, “The Dead Walk”, “Return of the Living Dead” and “Re-Sonator”.

I’ve already talked a lot about how I think the split format perfectly represents the concept of the underground and “Convulsevely Rotteness” is exactly that. This material should have been released last year, but due to problems with the original label, it was only now in 2024 that it was possible to release it with Kill Again Records. Fortunately for us, both PODRIDÃO and CONVULSIVE deliver a death metal album of irrefutable quality.
