Para uma banda que ainda não completou uma década de trajetória, o PODRIDÃO age e trabalha como uma banda realmente veterana, tanto em termos de divulgação da sua música quando em termos de criação musical propriamente dita.
“Coffin of the Corrupted Dead” é o quarto álbum oficial de uma discografia que inclui outros álbuns, demo tapes, singles, live álbum e split, ou seja, uma produção de respeito de lançamentos sólidos e que foram mostrando a evolução gritante do PODRIDÃO. Lançado oficialmente no final do mês de Julho, esse novo trabalho é a prova de que esse trio já não trabalha de forma “amadora” há um bom tempo.
O death metal aqui apresentado abraça com toda a força o metal da morte tradicional, unindo aquele tempero do metal extremo brasileiro com o death metal da velha escola dos anos 90, tanto dos Estados Unidos quanto da Suécia. A banda carrega em sua música um DNA maldito de grupos como Autopsy, Dismember, Grave, Entombed, Broken Hope, entre outras. Não temos aqui uma banda tentando desesperadamente emular uma escola musical, mas três caras que se uniram com o intuito de criar uma música suja, rápida e com uma atmosfera horrível.
Obviamente pela minha própria reação ao ouvir esse álbum é de que os objetivos foram alcançados e que aqui temos um lançamento maduro, bem produzido e que mostra o poder de fogo do underground extremo brasileiro. Não é de hoje que afirmo que a música extrema brasileira é a que mais organicamente tem se desenvolvido. A qualidade de nossas bandas cresceu de forma assustadora e hoje em dia se elas tiverem as mesmas condições das bandas gringas a briga seria muito séria.
De músicas mais rápidas como “Coffin of the Corrupted Dead” a músicas mais pesadas e cheias de feeling como “Exhaling Pestilent Rot”, você é bombardeado por todos os lados por uma sujeira musical extrema e nauseabunda. Uma das músicas que mais curti chama-se “Stages of Decomposition” e tem uma essência bem splatter, algo que me lembrou o Impetigo e o Repulsion.
Outra grande composição é “Fetid Purulence Manifest”, uma música que já carrega fofura em seu próprio título, deixando tudo mais alegre e emotivo como uma infestação de vermes em cima de carne pútrida. O mundo pode ser realmente belo e nojento. “Disinterred to Devour” continua o baile com qualidade e interação. Death metal é o melhor estilo desse mundo e essa faixa é uma prova disso.
A faixa encarregada de encerrar esse show de horrores é “Oozing Cadaveric Liquid” e é exatamente aqui que a melhor música se materializa e te acerta bem no meio da cara. O chorume escorre lentamente em meio a essa pancadaria e encerra o melhor álbum do PODRIDÃO até o momento.
A produção do álbum é excelente, a arte da capa que é assinada por Darken 666 casa totalmente com a proposta musical e ficaria matadora em formato vinil. Se você tiver a oportunidade de ver esses caras ao vivo, não vacile. Apoie o metal da morte brasileiro ou morra ! E que a PODRIDÃO seja eterna !

For a band that has not yet completed a decade of existence, PODRIDÃO acts and works like a truly veteran band, both in terms of promoting their music and in terms of musical creation itself.
“Coffin of the Corrupted Dead” is the fourth official album in a discography that includes other albums, demo tapes, singles, live albums, and split albums, that is, a respectable production of solid releases that have shown the striking evolution of PODRIDÃO. Officially released at the end of July, this new work is proof that this trio has not been working in an “amateur” way for a long time.
The death metal presented here embraces traditional death metal with all its might, combining that Brazilian extreme metal flavor with old-school death metal from the 90s, both from the United States and Sweden. The band carries in its music the cursed DNA of groups such as Autopsy, Dismember, Grave, Entombed, Broken Hope, among others. This is not a band desperately trying to emulate a musical school, but three guys who got together with the intention of creating dirty, fast music with a horrible atmosphere.
Obviously, my own reaction to listening to this album is that the objectives have been achieved and that we have here a mature, well-produced release that shows the firepower of the Brazilian extreme underground. It is not just today that I affirm that Brazilian extreme music is the one that has developed most organically. The quality of our bands has grown at an alarming rate and nowadays, if they had the same conditions as foreign bands, the competition would be very serious.
From faster songs like “Coffin of the Corrupted Dead” to heavier songs full of feeling like “Exhaling Pestilent Rot”, you are bombarded from all sides by extreme and nauseating musical filth. One of the songs I liked the most is called “Stages of Decomposition” and has a very splatter essence, something that reminded me of Impetigo and Repulsion.
Another great composition is “Fetid Purulence Manifest”, a song that already carries cuteness in its very title, making everything more cheerful and emotional, like an infestation of worms on top of putrid meat. The world can be truly beautiful and disgusting. “Disinterred to Devour” continues the dance with quality and interaction. Death metal is the best style in the world, and this track is proof of that.
The track responsible for closing this horror show is “Oozing Cadaveric Liquid”, and it is exactly here that the best song materializes and hits you right in the face. The slurry slowly drips amid this beating and closes the best PODRIDÃO album to date.
The album’s production is excellent, the cover art by Darken 666 fits perfectly with the musical proposal and would look killer on vinyl. If you have the opportunity to see these guys live, don’t hesitate. Support Brazilian death metal or die! And may PODRIDÃO be eternal!
