HUMUBOROS – Transtornos… (CD 2024)

Não é de hoje que sabemos a atmosfera sombria, pesada e repugnante que paira sobre a “cidade sem salvação”. Os seres que vagueiam em suas catacumbas não param de produzir. Quando menos se espera um ruído é escutado…um urro é ouvido…e mais uma vez lamentos serão a única alternativa dos filhos da ilusão.

Quando todos se escondiam em suas tumbas, em plena pandemia, Paganus, guitarrista da banda Benemmerinnen, criava o projeto HUMUBOROS. Uma válvula de escape onde pôde expressar suas ideias sobre os conflitos humanos e os piores sentimentos, que em todos nós habita.

Seu trabalho de estréia, o álbum “Transtornos…” é fruto da parceria de Paganus (guitarra/baixo) com o multi instrumentista, Lunatic (Morbid Perversion / Scathing Nocturnal), que se encarregou, além da engenharia e mixagem do álbum, das baquetas e vocais.

Algumas batidas do coração são escutadas para em seguida ouvirmos a primeira faixa, ‘Fragilidade’. Com um riff bem interessante, a melodia me transmitiu um sentimento de ansiedade. Uma música com uma estrutura bem sólida, já demonstrando a capacidade inerente da dupla diabólica. Uma composição se encaixaria perfeitamente como trilha sonora de algum filme psicológico. Logo após, temos ‘Misantropo’, numa pegada oitentista, algo que me lembrou Celtic Frost/Venom com aquelas bases cavalgadas com muito feeling e boas variações de riffs.

Os vocais de Lunatic encaixaram perfeitamente na proposta vociferando; “ Venha até a mim que eu te ajudarei! Colocarei prazer em sua dor. Gosto de feri-la, depois magoá-la…”. Em ‘Humano’, HUMUBOROS me teleporta ao passado. Aquele Black Metal cadenciado, “by” anos 90, onde batíamos cabeça na frente do palco, ombro com ombro e guitarras invisíveis entre os braços, aguardando as baquetas e riffs aumentarem a velocidade, transformando literalmente o local num inferno.

Achei o início de ‘Cretino’ muito foda, as bases de guitarra são simples, porém cativantes. As partes lentas dão mais peso e um clima mórbido à faixa, além do destaque do vocal totalmente apodrecido. As últimas músicas ‘Escória do Universo’ e ‘Confuso’ revelam para mim, um lado mais trabalhado do projeto. O peso e agressividade do Metal Extremo está ali enraizado, porém as fortes influências do Heavy Metal, basicamente do pai de todos nós, Black Sabbath, é o que dá direção nessas composições. As linhas de guitarra são bem empregadas, com boa melodia e variações entre bases cavalgadas e alavancadas, fazendo-nos bater cabeça ao som do verdadeiro Metal, mergulhados nos transtornos humanos.

It’s not just today that we know about the dark, heavy and disgusting atmosphere that hangs over the “city without salvation”. The beings that roam its catacombs never stop producing. When you least expect it, a noise is heard…a roar is heard…and once again wailing will be the only alternative for the children of illusion.

When everyone was hiding in their graves during the pandemic, Paganus, guitarist with the band Benemmerinnen, created the HUMUBOROS project. An outlet where he could express his ideas about human conflicts and the worst feelings that dwell in all of us.

Their debut album “Transtornos…” is the result of a partnership between Paganus (guitar/bass) and multi-instrumentalist Lunatic (Morbid Perversion / Scathing Nocturnal), who, in addition to engineering and mixing the album, was also responsible for the drums and vocals.

A few heartbeats are heard and then we hear the first track, ‘Fragility’. With a very interesting riff, the melody gave me a feeling of anxiety. A song with a very solid structure, already demonstrating the devilish duo’s inherent ability. A composition that would fit perfectly as the soundtrack to some psychological movie. Soon after, there’s ‘Misanthrope’, with an eighties feel, something that reminded me of Celtic Frost/Venom with those rides with a lot of feeling and good riff variations. Lunatic’s vocals fit the bill perfectly, calling out: “Come to me and I’ll help you! I’ll put pleasure in your pain. I like to hurt you, then hurt you…”. In ‘Human’, HUMUBOROS teleports me to the past. That cadenced Black Metal, “by” the 90s, where we banged our heads at the front of the stage, shoulder to shoulder and invisible guitars between our arms, waiting for the drumsticks and riffs to pick up speed, literally turning the place into hell.

I thought the beginning of ‘Cretino’ was great, the guitar bases are simple but catchy. The slower parts give the track more weight and a morbid atmosphere, as well as highlighting the totally rotten vocals. The last songs ‘Slag of the Universe’ and ‘Confused’ reveal to me a more elaborate side of the project. The heaviness and aggression of extreme metal is rooted there, but the strong influences of heavy metal, basically from the father of us all, Black Sabbath, is what gives direction to these compositions. The guitar lines are well used, with a good melody and variations between the ride bases and the levered ones, making us bang our heads to the sound of true Metal, immersed in human upheavals.
