DEMONCY – Diabolica Blasphemiae (Adv. EP 2023)

Para aqueles que estão inseridos na cena black metal o nome do DEMONCY não deve ser nenhuma novidade. Esse grupo norte-americano está criando uma desgraça musical desde 1989 e após mais de três décadas continua vomitando a perfeita trilha sonora do apocalipse.

Nesse novo EP “Diabolica Blasphemiae”, o DEMONCY não reinventa a roda, não tenta soar menos sujo e investe com total convicção na imundície de sua música. E não decepciona.  Após a longa introdução de “Satanas Vult”, os trabalhos realmente tem início com a imunda faixa título “Diabolica Blasphemiae”, que joga gasolina e ateia fogo em tudo ao seu redor. Os vocais são como sussurros oriundos do inferno. Não há nada polido em nenhuma das faixas e até mesmo quando a velocidade é reduzida ao mínimo, ainda assim tudo soa como o DEMONCY deve soar: brutal e profano.

A próxima faixa é “Sepulcrum Spectra”, que soa quase death metal com seus riffs massivos e diretos, mas cheios de feeling. É a melhor música desse lançamento.  Em seguida vem a longa “Malum Incarnatus Est”, uma composição mais densa e carregada de maldade. A atmosfera se torna mais opressiva e esse efeito é resultado direto da qualidade dessa música.

O EP se encerra com “Consummatum Est”, uma Outro que cria uma atmosfera ritualística e deixa a impressão de que apenas três faixas é pouco. A capa desse material é muito foda.

Como diz o ditado, às vezes é melhor oferecer pouco e garantir qualidade do que oferecer o mundo e não ter impacto algum. “Diabolica Blasphemiae” é um trabalho que oferece o melhor do black/death metal com alto índice de blasfêmias.

For those of you involved in the black metal scene, the name DEMONCY should come as no surprise. This North American group has been creating musical doom since 1989 and after more than three decades continues to spew out the perfect soundtrack to the apocalypse.

On this new EP “Diabolica Blasphemiae”, DEMONCY doesn’t reinvent the wheel, doesn’t try to sound less dirty and invests with total conviction in the filth of their music. And they don’t disappoint.  After the long introduction of “Satanas Vult”, the work really begins with the filthy title track “Diabolica Blasphemiae”, which throws petrol and sets fire to everything around it. The vocals are like whispers from hell. There’s nothing polished about any of the tracks and even when the speed is reduced to a minimum, everything still sounds like DEMONCY should: brutal and unholy.

The next track is “Sepulcrum Spectra”, which sounds almost death metal with its massive and direct riffs, but full of feeling. It’s the best song on this release.  Next comes the long “Malum Incarnatus Est”, a denser composition full of evil. The atmosphere becomes more oppressive and this effect is a direct result of the quality of this song.

The EP closes with “Consummatum Est”, an outro that creates a ritualistic atmosphere and leaves the impression that just three tracks is not enough. The cover of this material is very cool.

As the saying goes, sometimes it’s better to offer little and guarantee quality than to offer the world and have no impact at all. “Diabolica Blasphemiae” is a work that offers the best of black/death metal with a high level of blasphemy.
