CRYFEMAL – La Gran Victoria Del Mal (CD 2023)

Chegar a nove álbuns de estúdio não é uma tarefa fácil para nenhuma banda de metal, ainda mais quando a banda executa o mais infernal e desgraçado black metal. O CRYFEMAL está na ativa desde 1998 (ainda que tenha usado outro nome e tenha feito uma parada) e produzindo continuamente.

A banda ao vivo entrega um verdadeiro espetáculo de brutalidade e eu pude presenciar isso alguns anos atrás durante o Maryland Deathfest e foi muito engraçado ouvir uma parte do público gritando o pseudônimo do vocalista: Ebola, Ebola… era como se fosse um ritual de invocação a uma das piores doenças que existem na face da terra e todos acabaram sendo contaminados com um show caótico e direto.

Em Outubro passado a banda lançou seu mais novo álbum de estúdio “La gran victoria del mal” e primeiramente vale salientar com o estilo cai bem quando usando o espanhol como língua de transmissão das maldições escritas. Soa ainda mais maléfico e obscuro. Mas musicalmente não há espaço liberado para nada que não seja uma manifestação de selvageria musical sem freios.

Se é possível, eu acho que é correto afirmar que a música do CRYFEMAL se tornou ainda mais brutal. Quando escutamos uma música como “Escencia Del Caos” isso fica evidente. A música tem uma certa dissonância e execução que criam um ambiente de maldade supresa.

“Necrocaina” possui toda essa agressividade, mas flerta também com momentos mais lentos e cheios de densidade. Mas esses momentos são apenas passageiros. Já “Mal Inmortal” possui alguns riffs que lembram o Immortal em seu álbum “Blizzard Beasts”. É uma faixa poderosa.

Uma das faixas que mais gostei foi “Mantem La Furia Fuera”, que soa como uma explosão nuclear. Reduz tudo ao redor a escombros sem forma. Talvez seja a música mais brutal do álbum. Outra grande faixa vem a seguir e chama-se “Noctambulismo”, que tem uma estrutura parecida com a anterior: é uma pancadaria do início ao fim.

A música com mais feeling nesse lançamento é “Despide El Ser”, com seus riffs assombrados e atmosfera odiosa. A brutalidade veste uma roupagem de densos e frios climas criados pelos instrumentos. Tudo vem abaixo mais uma vez quando “Fuerza Sepulcral” se inicia. É difícil sobreviver a uma bombardeio como o realizado por esse álbum. Finalmente “Muerte Adversaria” se apresenta e encerra um álbum que escreve com sangue mais um capítulo na trajetória desse grupo hoje radicado nas Ilhas Canárias.

A produção do álbum é muito boa e a arte da capa personifica o que é o CRYFEMAL e sua música. Se você busca por uma sonoridade tranquila, fique longe desse álbum.

Reaching nine studio albums is not an easy task for any metal band, even more so when the band performs the most hellish and dismal black metal. CRYFEMAL has been active since 1998 (even though it used another name and took a break) and has been producing continuously.

The live band delivers a true spectacle of brutality and I was able to witness this a few years ago during the Maryland Deathfest and it was very funny to hear part of the audience shouting the vocalist’s pseudonym: Ebola, Ebola… it was like a ritual invocation of one of the worst diseases that exists on the face of the earth and everyone ended up being contaminated with a chaotic and direct show.

Last October the band released their latest studio album “La gran victoria del mal” (The Great Victory of Evil) and first of all it’s worth pointing out how well the style works when using Spanish as the language in which the written curses are transmitted. It sounds even more evil and dark. But musically, there’s no room left for anything that isn’t a manifestation of unbridled musical savagery.

If it’s possible, I think it’s correct to say that CRYFEMAL‘s music has become even more brutal. When you listen to a song like “Escencia Del Caos” this is evident. The music has a certain dissonance and execution that creates an atmosphere of surprising evil.

“Necrocaina” has all this aggression, but also flirts with slower moments full of density. But these moments are only fleeting. “Mal Inmortal” has some riffs reminiscent of Immortal on their “Blizzard Beasts” album. It’s a powerful track.

One of the tracks I liked the most was “Mantem La Furia Fuera”, which sounds like a nuclear explosion. It reduces everything around it to shapeless rubble. It’s perhaps the most brutal song on the album. Another great track follows called “Noctambulismo”, which has a similar structure to the previous one: it’s a pummelling from start to finish.

The song with the most feeling on this release is “Despide El Ser”, with its haunted riffs and hateful atmosphere. The brutality is dressed up in dense, cold climates created by the instruments. Everything comes crashing down once again when “Fuerza Sepulcral” kicks in. It’s hard to survive a bombardment like the one carried out by this album. Finally, “Muerte Adversaria” comes on and brings to a close an album that writes another chapter in the career of this group now based in the Canary Islands.

The album is very well produced and the cover artwork epitomises what CRYFEMAL and their music are all about. If you’re looking for a quiet sound, stay away from this album.
