Um dos grandes nomes do grindcore está de volta com um novo EP. Desde o fim dos anos 1980, os caras vêm lançando músicas podreiras e violentas. Este lançamento conta com apenas seis faixas e cerca de 13 minutos de duração total.
“La tua foto sul marmo” mostra um pouco de todas as influências da banda, que vão do punk rock ao death metal. O EP é muito bem produzido, pesado e bastante encorpado. Cantado, berrado e urrado em italiano, o disco começa com “Il respiro si chiude”, que já chega destruindo tudo com uma faixa explosiva e agressiva. Em seguida, desacelera para quebrar o ritmo frenético, alternando entre vocais guturais e gritados, característica que será ouvida durante todo o EP.
“Scarto del rimorso” retorna às raízes da banda, misturando punk, hardcore e grind de forma típica, lembrando bastante o que os Ratos de Porão fazem. “Vendicativo” marca a metade do EP com outra combinação certeira, agora unindo grind, punk e thrash metal, além de alguns riffs melódicos que remetem imediatamente ao Carcass.
A faixa-título, “La tua foto sul marmo”, desacelera novamente e revela outras facetas da banda. As passagens iniciais lembram mais o nu metal, mas logo retornam ao grindcore, embora com bases mais elaboradas. Parece que a mudança de formação, com a entrada do novo guitarrista Eugenio Sambasile, contribuiu para a inserção desses elementos na construção das novas músicas.
“L’era della dispersione” é uma combinação frenética e enlouquecedora de grind e death metal. Já quase sem fôlego, chegamos à faixa que encerra o EP: “Ai confini di quel che puoi dire”. A música começa com um grind/gore de primeira qualidade e mantém a intensidade, embora quebre o ritmo em alguns momentos com suas misturas de grind e punk. No fim das contas, trata-se de um disco rápido, pesado e extremamente energético, capaz de agradar tanto aos fãs de punk quanto aos de death metal.

One of the biggest names in grindcore is back with a new EP. Since the late 1980s, these guys have been releasing filthy and violent music. This release features only six tracks and a total running time of about 13 minutes.
“La tua foto sul marmo” showcases a bit of everything that influences the band, ranging from punk rock to death metal. The EP is very well produced, heavy, and remarkably full-bodied.
Sung, screamed, and growled entirely in Italian, the record opens with “Il respiro si chiude”, a track that immediately devastates the listener with its explosive and aggressive approach. It then slows down briefly, breaking the frantic pace while alternating between guttural and shouted vocals, a characteristic that remains present throughout the entire EP.
“Scarto del rimorso” returns to the band’s roots, blending punk, hardcore, and grind in a way that strongly recalls the style of Ratos de Porão. “Vendicativo” marks the midpoint of the EP with another successful combination, this time mixing grind, punk, and thrash metal, while also featuring melodic riffs that instantly bring Carcass to mind.
The title track, La tua foto sul marmo, slows things down once again and reveals other facets of the band. Its opening passages lean more toward nu metal, but soon return to grindcore territory, albeit with more elaborate guitar work and arrangements. It seems that the lineup change, with the addition of guitarist Eugenio Sambasile, has contributed to the incorporation of these elements into the songwriting of the new material.
“L’era della dispersione” is a frantic and overwhelming blend of grind and death metal. Almost out of breath, we arrive at the EP’s closing track, “Ai confini di quel che puoi dire”. The song begins with top-quality grind/gore and maintains its intensity throughout, while occasionally breaking the pace with its grind and punk-infused passages.
In the end, this is a fast, heavy, and highly energetic record that is sure to appeal to fans of both punk and death metal.
