Seraph Zine # 08 – Ano de lançamento : Agosto/2024
Como todo metalhead que entrou no underground nos anos 80 e 90 sabe como era difícil ter acesso há lançamentos de vinil, cds ou demo tape, e às informações também eram difíceis, e principalmente as bandas mais undergrounds que dificilmente tinham as portas abertas nas revistas coloridinhas e capitalistas.
Essas bandas mais undergrounds, que habitavam o submundo, porém tinham as portas abertas e divulgadas em zines. Descobri muitas bandas através dos zines e até hoje, é assim, mesmo em um mundo digital os zines me trazem bandas que jamais teria acesso, exatamente por estarem nos porões do submundo.
E mais uma vez o Luciano traz uma nova edição do seu artefato, Seraph Zine. Desta vez ele investiu mais recursos financeiros na parte visual e lançou o zine em capa colorida e papel couchê. E ainda com duas capas maravilhosas. Verdadeiras obras de arte! Capas criadas por Fábio Nosferatus.
Outra coisa, que acho importante que tem acontecido cada vez mais frequente nos trabalhos dos zines é que os editores têm contado com “ajuda ou parceria” de amigos e amantes das escritas subversivas. No caso deste lançamento do Seraph Zine, o editor Luciano Freire, contou com a diagramação de Simone Rodrigues e a criação do logo por Antônio Naberius. E como diz no editorial: Um novo ciclo. Trazendo mais uma vez grandes bandas do underground nacional e internacional. E como nossa vida permeia por novas etapas e ciclos iniciamos uma nova etapa experimentado outras possibilidades e cultivando outras memórias.
Contém 8 entrevistas, curtas e diretas, além das tradicionais resenhas de CDs e fanzines, além de um texto chamado: Por que eu gosto do cinema de Cláudio Assis, escrito pelo amigo Robson “Desgraça” Carvalho, editor do zine que respeito muito: Desgraça zine, das terras sem salvação. Aliás, esse texto saiu no Pecatório Zine, de Teresina-Pi, e na época eu não conhecia o trabalho de Cláudio Assis e fui atrás e gostei muito!
Se os amigos apreciam a sétima arte brasileira, procurem conhecer a obra desse cineasta de Caruaru, Pernambuco, que lançou ótimos filmes como: Amarelo Manga (2002), Baixio das Bestas (2006) Febre de Rato (2011) entre outros filmes.
Sobre as entrevistas: Eternal Sorrow, é difícil ver entrevista com os doomers curitibanos, em revistas,zines ou mesmo webzines, ou canais de YouTube, e achei fraca. Achei que a banda poderia se aprofundar mais nas perguntas e não ter economizado nas respostas. Mas essa é só minha opinião, já que sou um grande admirador da banda!
Uma entrevista muito boa foi com os arqueólogos do death metal catarinense, Orthostat e também com Vazio, Vulthum e Mortal Profecia, além de Justabeli.
Exaversum, outra boa entrevista eu não conhecia e vou procurar sobre a banda assim, que sobrar um tempo! Esse é o trabalho dos zines! Ele é essencial para registrar uma época e chegar às mãos de quem realmente cultua o verdadeiro underground!
Uma crítica construtiva: Neste novo formato teve alguns erros na montagem e que não influenciam nada na leitura, mas seria bom dar uma boa revisada antes de mandá-lo para gráfica. Sei que revisão é chato e ocupa muito tempo. E outra coisa: pesquisar mais sobre bandas para não dar espaço para as mesmas que não acrescentam nada em um zine progressista. Fora isso perfeito o vosso trabalho, Luciano e sua staff! Resistência Zine, sempre!

Seraph Zine # 08 – Year of release : August/2024
As any metalhead who went underground in the 80s and 90s knows, it was difficult to get hold of vinyl releases, CDs or demo tapes, and information was also hard to come by, especially for the more underground bands who hardly ever had their doors opened in the colorful, capitalist magazines.
These more underground bands, who inhabited the underworld, nevertheless had their doors open and were publicized in zines. I discovered many bands through zines and even today, even in a digital world, zines bring me bands that I would never have had access to, precisely because they are in the cellars of the underworld.
And once again Luciano brings a new edition of his artifact, Seraph Zine. This time he’s invested more financial resources in the visual side and has released the zine in full color and on coated paper. And with two wonderful covers. Real works of art! Covers created by Fábio Nosferatus.
Another thing that I think is important and that has been happening more and more often in zines is that the editors have had “help or partnership” from friends and lovers of subversive writing. In the case of this release of Seraph Zine, editor Luciano Freire had the layout done by Simone Rodrigues and the logo created by Antônio Naberius. And as the editorial says: A new cycle. It contains 8 interviews, short and to the point, as well as the traditional reviews of CDs and fanzines, plus a text called: Why I like Cláudio Assis’ cinema, written by my friend Robson “Desgraça” Carvalho, editor of the zine I respect a lot: Desgraça zine, from the lands without salvation. I thought the band could have delved deeper into the questions and not skimped on the answers. But that’s just my opinion, as I’m a great admirer of the band!

Exaversum, another good interview I didn’t know about and I’m going to look up the band as soon as I have some time! That’s the work of zines! It’s essential for recording an era and getting into the hands of those who really appreciate the true underground!
One piece of constructive criticism: In this new format, there have been a few errors in the editing that don’t affect the reading at all, but it would be good to give it a good proofread before sending it to the printers. I know proofreading is boring and takes up a lot of time. And another thing: do more research on bands so as not to give space to the same ones who don’t add anything to a progressive zine. Apart from that, your work is perfect, Luciano and your staff! Resistência Zine, always!
