MALICE GARDEN – Supreme Instinct Numb (CD 2023)

E o submundo brasileiro sempre nos presenteando e provando que aqui no Brasil, nossas bandas têm um poder de fogo e bom gosto, que não devemos nada para cena nenhuma, seja americana, escandinava ou europeia. Nossas bandas têm em seu DNA a fúria, a raiva e a devoção ao metal extremo. MALICE GARDEN, vem do sul do estado catarinense e finalmente lança seu debut-CD. 

E que trabalho matador, refinado, brutal, agressivo, técnico e melódico ao mesmo tempo. Esse trabalho maldito é composto por 9 faixas e um pouco mais de 35 minutos de riffs furiosos, melodias cativantes, bateria furiosa e baixo pulsante e pesado. O play abre com a faixa “S.i.n.” que saiu no EP “Denying Creation”, (2021) e teve uma ótima repercussão pelo submundo e inclusive resenhamos aqui no site. Com uma melhor produção em estúdio, a música ficou muito mais furiosa e melódica. É algo de encher os olhos com guitarras muito bem executadas e vocais insanos. Bases poderosas e no meio delas tem uma passagem com violões/guitarras acústicas e com um clima pagão para respirar e logo volta para a brutalidade. Ótima escolha para abrir os trabalhos. Só para vocês terem uma pequena ideia, é algo entre Dissection e o início do Dimmu Borgir. 

A profanação e a luxúria continuam com as faixas “Poison Divine” e “Unholy Pleasure Mysteria”. Mais uma vez mesclando muita brutalidade, peso, agressividade e momentos com belas melodias. Riffs agressivos, raivosos e obscuros.

Mais duas faixas que saíram no já citado EP e mais uma vez precisamos comentar: como uma boa produção em estúdio faz toda diferença em uma música ou álbum. “Denying Creation” e “Your Flesh My Lust” soam poderosas e insanas. Aliás, como já falamos, tudo neste trabalho é de uma beleza tanto na parte sonora quanto visual. “Supreme Instinct Numb” foi gravado no Hurricane Studio, em Porto Alegre, (RS) e com a produção de Sebastian Carsin, junto com a banda. Mixagem e masterização também. Aliás, Sebastian é um produtor que vem fazendo um ótimo trabalho. Suas produções são bem respeitadas e muitas bandas, principalmente daqui do Sul do Brasil, têm procurado o seu trabalho. 

A parte visual e artwork deste trabalho é de uma beleza obscura, que casa perfeitamente com as letras. Algo profano e gótico. A capa ficou por conta de L. Vulcan. 

Fechando esse profano e sádico trabalho com as faixas: “Violation Domain”, “Thy Master”, “Black Gold” e “Exodus”. Os maliciosos demônios fazem a alegria dos cultuadores do Black/Death Metal, com muita fúria, blasfêmia, mesclando velocidade com partes cadenciadas, e melhor de tudo, mostrando que seus músicos entendem de metal e de música. Músicos que conhecem seus instrumentos e são técnicos, mas não soam chatos, e um vocalista que sabe interpretar e transmitir sentimentos de raiva e fúria, direto do inferno.

And the Brazilian underworld always presents us and proves that here in Brazil, our bands have firepower and good taste, that we owe nothing to any scene, be it American, Scandinavian or European. Our bands have fury, anger and devotion to extreme metal in their DNA. MALICE GARDEN, comes from the south of the state of Santa Catarina and finally releases its debut CD.

And what a killer work, refined, brutal, aggressive, technical and melodic at the same time. This damn work consists of 9 tracks and a little over 35 minutes of furious riffs, catchy melodies, furious drums and pulsating, heavy bass. The play opens with the track “S.i.n.” which came out on the EP “Denying Creation”, (2021) and had a great response throughout the underworld and we even reviewed it here on the website. With better studio production, the music became much more furious and melodic. It’s something to fill your eyes with very well performed guitars and insane vocals. Powerful bases and in the middle of them there is a passage with acoustic guitars/guitars and a pagan atmosphere to breathe and then returns to brutality. Great choice to open work. Just to give you a little idea, it’s something between Dissection and the beginning of Dimmu Borgir.

The profanity and lust continue with the tracks “Poison Divine” and “Unholy Pleasure Mysteria”. Once again mixing a lot of brutality, weight, aggression and moments with beautiful melody. Aggressive, angry and dark riffs.

Two more tracks that appeared on the aforementioned EP and once again we need to comment: how good studio production makes all the difference in a song or album. “Denying Creation” and “Your Flesh My Lust” sound powerful and insane. In fact, as we already said, everything about this work is beautiful, both sound and visual. “Supreme Instinct Numb” was recorded at Hurricane Studio, in Porto Alegre, (RS) and produced by Sebastian Carsin, with the band. Mixing and mastering too. In fact, Sebastian is a producer who has been doing a great job. His productions are well respected and many bands, mainly from southern Brazil, have sought out his work.

The visual and artwork part of this work is of a dark beauty, which matches perfectly with the lyrics. Something profane and gothic. The cover was created by L. Vulcan.

Closing this profane and sadistic work with the tracks: “Violation Domain”, “Thy Master”, “Black Gold” and “Exodus”. The malicious demons make Black/Death Metal fans happy, with a lot of fury, blasphemy, mixing speed with rhythmic parts, and best of all, showing that their musicians understand metal and music. Musicians who know their instruments and are technical, but don’t sound boring, and a vocalist who knows how to interpret and convey feelings of anger and fury, straight from hell.
