BLACK FUCKING CANCER – Procreate Inverse (2022)

 Muitas vezes, brutalidade extrema e boa técnica / bom gosto nas composições caminham por vias opostas, e dificilmente convergem. Não é o caso do BLACK FUCKING CANCER e seu novo álbum “Procreate Inverse”.

 O nível de ódio e barbarismo concebido por esse trio de San Jose, na Califórnia, é descomunal. O disco homônimo de 2016 é muito bom, mas a evolução aqui é patente. Não só das composições em si, como em termos de produção. Temos um dos mais fortes candidatos a álbum de Black Metal do ano, até aqui.

 Os caras criaram um álbum que gira em torno de 55 minutos e que não perde a intensidade em momento algum. O Black Metal torpe, ortodoxo e misantrópico, ora tocado veloz e impetuosamente, ora despejando caos ritualístico (de maldade quase palpável), conta com elementos que o aproximam tanto do Blackened Death / War Metal da América do Norte quanto de atos odiosos e dissonantes do velho mundo.

 A peça de abertura “Excursus” é uma declaração autêntica de guerra contra todas as correntes e variações modernas do estilo. Trilha sonora digna do extermínio da humanidade, composta e executada com brutal maestria. Nada resta além de trevas, escombros e caos.

 Caso você tenha sobrevivido, a colossal “Obscene Lusting Dagger” segue a surra impiedosa. Caótica, com assinaturas rítmicas exóticas e um trampo maníaco de bateria e baixo. As melodias doentias progridem e, de alguma forma, prosperam sob o fogo inclemente da artilharia. Solos esquizofrênicos, atmosfera torturante. Doze minutos estupendos, de tirar o fôlego.

“Serpentious Flames” é muito mais curta e direta, distribuindo blasts e descambando ferozmente rumo a um Black Grind tóxico e absolutamente letal. Destaque para os vocais pestilentos do guitarrista “Thrull”.

 A pegada mais ortodoxa está presente em “Eradic Hate”, de início veloz ultrajante. Suas passagens de ritmo médio são viciantes, e remetem ao melhor do estilo escandinavo. Direcionam a música, quase sempre, a acelerações absurdamente foda conduzidas pelo demente dono das baquetas “J.”.

 A faixa título “Procreate Inverse” abre atmosférica, o que não significa tranquilidade quando se trata do BFC. A pegada ritualística ortodoxa e progressiva é dominante, mas após a seção climática do meio da faixa, o apocalipse reina supremo até sua conclusão (ouça as trombetas durante a sua outro).

 Para fechar o registro, a banda optou pelo cover de “Krossfyre”, do matador KATHARSIS. Puro caos, a versão para o som que saiu originalmente em 2006 no excepcional “VVorld VVithout End”. Certamente, os alemães são uma de suas mais significativas influências, e o respeito e admiração transparecem na homenagem.

 Devastador, o segundo álbum de estúdio do BLACK FUCKING CANCER. Almas e ouvidos sensíveis, mantenham-se bem longe. Material pra quem realmente curte as artes mais obscuras e profanas dos abismos musicais.

 Obra indispensável aos fãs de KATHARSIS (ALE), ANAAL NATHRAKH (GBR), ANTAEUS (FRA), FUNERAL MIST (SUE), INFERNAL WAR (POL), AVERSE SEFIRA (EUA), ARKHON INFAUSTUS (FRA).

Extreme brutality and refined technique / good taste in compositions often go in opposite directions, and hardly ever converge. This is not the case with BLACK FUCKING CANCER and their new full “Procreate Inverse”.

 The level of hatred and barbarism conceived by this trio hailing from San Jose, California, is astonishing. The 2016 eponymous album is very good, yes, but the evolution here is obvious. Not only of the compositions themselves, but in terms of production. It’s certainly one of the strongest “Black Metal album of the year” candidates, so far.

 They’ve created an album that spins around 55 minutes, which doesn’t lose any of its intensity, at all. The vile, orthodox, and misanthropic Black Metal, sometimes played ultra-fast and impetuously, sometimes pouring out ritualistic chaos (with almost palpable evil), has elements that bring it closer both to the Blackened Death / War Metal of North America and the hateful and dissonant acts of the old world.

 Opening piece “Excursus” is an authentic declaration of war against all trends and modern variations of the genre. A soundtrack worthy of humanity’s decimation, composed and performed with brutal mastery. Nothing remains but darkness, ashes, rubble, and chaos.

 In case you survived, the colossal “Obscene Lusting Dagger” follows the merciless scourging. Chaotic, with exotic rhythmic signatures and maniacal drum and bass work. Sick melodies progress and, somehow, thrive under the relentless fire of artillery. Schizophrenic solos, torturous atmosphere. Twelve stupendous, breathtaking minutes.

“Serpentious Flames” is much shorter and straightforward, spreading out blasts and plunging headfirst into a toxic and downright lethal Black Grind. “Thrull’s” pestilent vocals are a highlight.

 The most orthodox vibe is present in “Eradic Hate”, with an outrageous sharp and fast kick-off. Its mid-tempo passages are addictive and hark back to the best of the Scandinavian style. They almost always drive the music into absurdly sick accelerations, conducted by the demented owner of the drumsticks, Mr. “J.”.

 Title track “Procreate Inverse” opens atmospheric, which doesn’t mean serenity when it comes to BFC. The orthodox, progressive, ritualistic grip is dominant, but after the climactic mid-track section, apocalypse reigns supreme until its conclusion (hell, listen to the trumpets during the outro).

 Closing the record, the band opted for a cover of “Krossfyre”, by killers KATHARSIS. Their version is pure chaos, a song which originally came out in 2006 on the exceptional “VVorldVVithoutEnd”. Certainly, the Germans are one of their most significant influences, and their respect and admiration are easily noticeable in this tribute.

 Devastating, the second full-length album by BLACK FUCKING CANCER. Sensitive souls and ears, keep your distance at all times. Raw material intended for those who really enjoy the darkest, and most profane forms of art, straight from the world’s deepest musical chasms.
