ROTHADÁS – Töviskert… a kísértés örök érzete… lidércharang (Adv. CD 2025)

Por volta de 2020 eu conheci essa banda da Hungria e imediatamente me interessei pelo seu som, inclusive entrevistando a banda. O death doom metal executado pelo grupo era tão denso e envolvente que não havia como passar desapercebido. Em 2021 foi lançado o debut álbum da banda e realmente aquele interesse não foi em vão. O ROTHADÁS é uma banda a ser acompanhada.

Finalmente agora no próximo mês de Março será lançado o segundo álbum oficial da banda, intitulado “Töviskert… a kísértés örök érzete… lidércharang” e já posso adiantar que aquela sonoridade medonha da banda está ainda mais maléfica. A atmosfera abissal do ROTHADÁS foi envolta em mais escuridão. O death metal se tornou ainda mais assustador e o doom metal ainda mais medonho. O peso é opressivo e os vocais são profundos, como se viessem das profundezas. A primeira coisa a chamar a atenção é a capa do álbum. Voltando aos velhos tempos, esse seria um álbum que eu compraria apenas pela capa, sem ouvir nada antes.

Mas seria aquela compra às cegas que você se lembraria por muito tempo. A primeira música é “Urnaszellem… szentek csontpora”, cheia de grandes riffs e com um equilíbrio entre momentos mais lentos e outro mais velozes, como em partes da música onde o bumbo duplo é como um estrondo. Depois as guitarras marcam seu território batendo forte. Em “Vértükör” a régua sobe ainda mais e o ouvinte ficará abismado com o clima sombrio e como as guitarras soam poderosas durante toda a faixa. Até quando o apocalipse impera. Quando os momentos mais lentos se manifestam, a melancolia é quase absoluta.

“Sóhajok kapuja” mostra claramente o lado mais doom death metal da banda. Isso é uma pequena obra prima da desolação. Tal como uma faca de dois gumes, a música se divide entre peso e brutalidade e eu acho que isso é uma constante na música do ROTHADÁS. Durante todo o álbum essa dualidade se faz presente e de uma forma incrivelmente poderosa. Em “Tetemek tava… lidércek tánca”, o que chama a atenção em meio à hecatombe musical manifestada pela banda. Dissonância, vocais podres e um reverber que dá uma atmosfera mais cavernosa

Algo muito positivo nesse álbum é que seria muito fácil soar redundante ou repetitivo demais, mas o ROTHADÁS sabe criar camadas sobre camadas, compondo músicas que se manifestam com grande impacto.

“Sikoltó füst” é um perfeito exemplo de death doom metal e me arrisco a dizer que percebi uma similaridade com o som dos brasileiros do Embalmed Souls. Existe um certo nível de rispidez que dá cores mais sombrias a composição. O álbum se encerra com “Az örök isten Lucifer”, outra longa música que mantém a caraterística do álbum e adiciona um tempero a mais com vozes limpas que criaram um resultado final bastante tétrico. O ROTHADÁS conseguiu lançar um álbum que no mínimo se iguala ao anterior em termos de qualidade.

Around 2020 I met this band from Hungary and immediately became interested in their sound, even interviewing them. The death doom metal performed by the group was so dense and enveloping that there was no way it could go unnoticed. In 2021, the band’s debut album was released and that interest really wasn’t in vain. ROTHADÁS is a band to keep an eye on.

Finally, next March will see the release of the band’s second official album, entitled “Töviskert… a kísértés örök érzete… lidércharang” and I can already tell you that the band’s hideous sound has become even more evil. The abyssal atmosphere of ROTHADÁS has been shrouded in more darkness. The death metal has become even scarier and the doom metal even more hideous. The heaviness is oppressive and the vocals are deep, as if from the depths. The first thing that catches the eye is the album cover. Back in the day, this would be an album I would buy just because of the cover, without listening to anything first.

But it would be that blind purchase that you would remember for a long time. The first song is “Urnaszellem… szentek csontpora”, full of great riffs and with a balance between slower and faster moments, like in parts of the song where the double bass drum is like a thunderclap. Then the guitars mark their territory by hitting hard. In “Vértükör” the bar is raised even higher and the listener will be amazed by the gloomy atmosphere and how powerful the guitars sound throughout the track. Even when the apocalypse reigns. When the slower moments appear, the melancholy is almost absolute.

“Sóhajok kapuja” clearly shows the band’s more doom death metal side. This is a little masterpiece of desolation. Like a double-edged sword, the music is divided between heaviness and brutality and I think this is a constant in ROTHADÁS’ music. Throughout the album this duality is present and in an incredibly powerful way. In “Tetemek tava… lidércek tánca”, what stands out amidst the musical hecatomb manifested by the band. Dissonance, rotten vocals and a reverb that gives it a more cavernous atmosphere

Something very positive about this album is that it would be very easy to sound redundant or too repetitive, but ROTHADÁS know how to create layers upon layers, composing songs that manifest themselves with great impact.

“Sikoltó füst” is a perfect example of death doom metal and I would venture to say that I noticed a similarity with the sound of the Brazilians from Embalmed Souls. There is a certain level of harshness that gives the composition a darker color. The album closes with “Az örök isten Lucifer”, another long song that maintains the album’s character and adds an extra spice with clean vocals that create a rather grim final result.. ROTHADÁS has managed to release an album that at least matches its predecessor in terms of quality.
