A equipe do “The Old Coffin Spirit Zine/Portal” acompanha de perto os passos da banda, e teve acesso antecipado à totalidade da obra, a qual tenho o prazer de analisar a seguir:
O OUTLAW havia gerado expectativa absurda por um novo álbum de estúdio em 2021, quando o devastador EP “Death Miasma” figurou como um dos melhores lançamentos de Black Metal daquele ano, demonstrando enorme evolução, repercutindo com avaliações extremamente positivas e aumentando sua base de seguidores no Brasil e internacionalmente.
O novo trabalho impacta, primeiramente, pela incrível arte da capa de “Shuvankar Biswas” com layout de “Giovanna Coelho”. A banda, com lineup estabilizado, conta com os brasileiros “D” (Composição, Vocais e Guitarras) e “A” (Baixo) além do finlandês “T” (Bateria), trio altamente afiado e de performance irrepreensível em “Reaching Beyond Assiah”.
“Bliss of Soul” encarrega-se da abertura, e a introdução climática de pouco mais de 30 segundos dá lugar a um Black Metal Melódico excepcionalmente agressivo, visceral e impetuoso, marcado pelo assalto furioso da bateria e pelo trabalho suntuoso de guitarras. Chama atenção a qualidade da produção, em parte desenvolvida pelo líder “D”.
Os intensos níveis de energia e as melodias memoráveis seguem dominantes em “To Burn This World And Dissolve The Flesh”, uma faixa que alterna, com maestria, momentos de velocidade insana e passagens cadenciadas e atmosféricas, incluindo um belíssimo solo de guitarra do convidado “Juho Koski” (SPELL OF TORMENT).
“Beyond The Realms Of God” é a primeira faixa do álbum disponibilizada ao público, confira no “YouTube”. Uma verdadeira pedrada, de base veloz e riffs monstruosos, com seus três minutos iniciais hipnóticos, induzindo o ouvinte a um odioso transe ritualístico. Som viciante, com trampo estupendo de bateria.
“The Unending Night” caminha em ritmo predominantemente médio, encoberta por uma atmosfera altamente obscura e enigmática, reforçada pelos vocais abrasivos. A seguinte “Everything That Becomes Nothing” será liberada ao público no dia 23 de fevereiro, com direito a vídeo. A faixa é matadora, balanceando agressividade descomunal com melodias macabras, marcantes desde a primeira audição.
O ápice do poder destrutivo do álbum revela-se em “The Serpent’s Chant”, hino blasfemo que agride impiedosamente, impondo-se triunfante em meio ao caos proporcionado pelo trio. Destaque para o segmento iniciado em 2:20, que desenvolve uma série de seções cataclísmicas que se alternam até sua conclusão.
A colossal faixa tema “Reaching Beyond Assiah” encerra os trabalhos sob clima apoteótico, investindo mais uma vez na fórmula: Ritmo hipnótico + Atmosfera ritualística + Melodias criativas e tétricas = Vitória incontestável.
Posso garantir que a espera por um novo álbum Full do OUTLAW não terá sido em vão. “Reaching Beyond Assiah” é monumental de ponta a ponta, obra de uma formação madura e em ótimo momento criativo, que entrega seu melhor material até aqui. Não tenho dúvidas sobre a posição deste álbum entre os melhores discos de Black Metal de 2023 ao final do ano.
Indispensável, especialmente aos fanáticos por DISSECTION (SUE), WATAIN (SUE), BLAZE OF PERDITION (POL), ASCENSION (ALE), OFERMOD (SUE), SACRAMENTUM (SUE), LORD BELIAL (SUE), MGLA (POL).

This magnificent artifact of annihilation was recorded in studios located in Sweden and The Netherlands and is expected to be released worldwide on March 31st through German label “AOP Records”. The team at “The Old Coffin Spirit Zine/Portal” closely follows the band’s steps, securing early access to the full Opus, which I am pleased to dissect below.
OUTLAW had generated high expectations for a new studio album in 2021, when the devastating “Death Miasma” EP figured as one of the top Black Metal releases that year, displaying enormous evolution, resonating with extremely positive reviews, and increasing its followers base in Brazil and internationally.
The new one makes its first statement with the incredible cover art by “Shuvankar Biswas” and layout by “Giovanna Coelho”. The band, with a stable lineup, has Brazilians “D” (Songwriting, Vocals and Guitars) and “A” (Bass) and Finnish “T” (Drums), making it a highly tight and sharp trio, showcasing impeccable performance on “Reaching Beyond Assiah”.
“Bliss of Soul” opens the portals to the netherworld, and the climactic intro of just over 30 seconds gives way to an exceptionally aggressive, visceral, and impetuous Melodic Black Metal, marked by the frenzied assault of the drums and sumptuous guitar work. The album’s production sounds fittingly brutal, partly developed by band’s leader “D”.
The intense energy levels and memorable melodies remain dominant in “To Burn This World And Dissolve The Flesh”, a tune which masterfully alternates moments of insane speed and atmospheric passages, including a beautiful guitar solo by guest musician ”Juho Koski” (SPELL OF TORMENT).
“Beyond The Realms Of God” is the first single, check it out on “YouTube”. A natural born killer, packed with fast base and monstrous riffs, with its hypnotic opening three minutes, inducing the listener into a hateful ritualistic trance. Addictive song, amazing drumming.
“The Unending Night” flows at a predominantly medium pace, covered by a highly obscure and enigmatic atmosphere, reinforced by abrasive vocals. “Everything That Becomes Nothing” will be the second single, released to the public on February 23, including a video version. Another killer track, balancing massive aggressiveness with macabre melodies, striking upon first listen.
The apex of the record’s destructive power is revealed in “The Serpent’s Chant“, a blasphemous anthem that mercilessly assaults you, triumphantly imposing itself amidst the chaos provided by the trio. A fine highlight is the segment starting at 2:20, developing and unleashing a series of cataclysmic sections, alternating until its conclusion.
The colossal theme track “Reaching Beyond Assiah” closes the album under an apotheotic atmosphere, investing once more in the formula: hypnotic rhythms + ritual atmosphere + ultimate melodies = majestic Luciferian victory.
I can assure you, the wait for OUTLAW’s new full album won’t be in vain. “Reaching Beyond Assiah” sounds monumental from start to finish, the spawn of a mature formation living a great creative moment, which delivers its best material so far. I’m positive about the album’s position among the best Black Metal albums of 2023, by the end of the year.
