…DO FUNDO…ABISMO – Caminhos que Aos Abismos Desce” (CD 2024)

Formada em meados de 2007 em Manaus, Amazonas, a banda de death/doom metal…DO FUNDO…ABISMO, lançou finalmente o seu full length “Caminhos Que Aos Abismos Desce” (2024) são 4 cânticos de lamúria e obscuridade. São faixas longas e muito bem executadas, todas entoadas na língua portuguesa e letras profundas e filosóficas, transpassando abjetos pensamentos em forma de música arrastadas, fúnebres e pesadas, sobre a decadência do ser e seus sentimentos perante o abismo  de incertezas que a vida nos traz. 

A sinfonia triste inicia com a faixa: “Ecos… Lamúrias”, a composição mais longa do play são 14:52 minutos de vocais cavernosos e guitarras pesadas e arrastadas. Apesar da música ser longa, passa rápido é uma música matadora! Com variações e mudanças de tempo que não soa chata ou enjoativa.

E segue a sinfonia da morte com as faixas: “Da Solidão Ao Fim” e “Sub Vmbra”. Faixas que nos arrastam para um mundo sombrio e frio.  …Do Fundo…Abismo nos entrega um matador death/doom metal. Aquele tradicional death/doom que surgiu no início dos anos 90 e quem aprecia o My Dying Bride na fase “As The flowers Withers” (1992) principalmente vai gostar muito do trabalho da banda e acrescentaria também Katatonia da fase “Dance of December Souls”, (1992) só para dar um norte aos amigos que aprecian  músicas arrastradas, fúnebres e obscuras. Mas os doomers de Manaus, (AM) tem outras influências nessa linha e identidade própria. 

A única crítica desse trabalho é a falta de informação como por exemplo: quem produziu o disco, que estúdio foi gravado ou quem criou a capa. Aliás, a capa é muito bonita e casa perfeitamente com o nome da banda e o nome do álbum. Eu acompanho a banda nas plataformas de streaming e suas capas de eps e singles lançados de forma digital são profundas e fúnebres, grotesca e contemplando as artes nos faz refletir e pensar. Aliás, o doom metal sempre consegue transmitir isso para os amantes do estilo, seja através da música ou das capas dos discos.

Outra coisa: seria perfeito se tivessem disponibilizado as letras no encarte. Eu adoraria adentrar no  fundo do abismo e analisar as letras e todo o contexto filosófico que a banda nos transmite através do instrumental e vocais urrados e cavernosos. Destino, (B), Treze, (G) Moriend (V) e Geb Shu Nut bateria entregaram  um ótimo trabalho para o submundo. A produção do disco é muito boa. E fechando o trabalho com a música “Canto Da Alcova”. Uma faixa muito foda com vocais limpos e cavernosos. 

Para quem aprecia death/doom metal o trabalho dos amazonenses será uma grata surpresa e provando que no país tropical brasilis apesar do sol, também cria- se músicas tristes e arrastadas sem o frio ou neve. Apenas por paixão ao underground e a música dos subterrâneos

Formed in mid-2007 in Manaus, Amazonas, the death/doom metal band…DO FUNDO…ABISMO has finally released its full-length “Caminhos Que Aos Abismos Desce” (2024), four songs of lamentation and darkness. The tracks are long and very well performed, all sung in Portuguese and with deep, philosophical lyrics, conveying abject thoughts in the form of drawn-out, funereal and heavy music, about the decadence of being and its feelings in the face of the abyss of uncertainties that life brings us. 

The sad symphony begins with the track: “Ecos… Lamúrias”, the longest composition on the play: 14:52 minutes of cavernous vocals and heavy, drawn-out guitars. Although the song is long, it passes quickly and is a killer! With variations and changes of tempo, it doesn’t sound boring or cloying.

The symphony of death continues with the tracks: “Da Solidão Ao Fim” and “Sub Vmbra”. Tracks that drag us into a dark and cold world. …From the Bottom…Abyss delivers a killer death/doom metal. That traditional death/doom that emerged in the early 90s and those who appreciate My Dying Bride in the “As The flowers Withers” phase (1992) especially will like the band’s work a lot and I would also add Katatonia from the “Dance of December Souls” phase, (1992) just to give a guide to friends who appreciate dragged out, funereal and obscure music. But the doomers from Manaus (AM) have other influences along these lines and their own identity. 

The only criticism of this work is the lack of information, such as who produced the album, which studio it was recorded in or who designed the cover. In fact, the cover is very beautiful and fits in perfectly with the name of the band and the album. I follow the band on streaming platforms and their covers for eps and singles released digitally are deep and funereal, grotesque and contemplating the arts makes us reflect and think. In fact, doom metal always manages to convey this to lovers of the style, whether through the music or the album covers.

Another thing: it would have been perfect if the lyrics had been available in the booklet. I’d love to go to the bottom of the abyss and analyze the lyrics and all the philosophical context that the band conveys to us through the instrumentation and howling, cavernous vocals. Destino, (B), Treze, (G) Moriend (V) and Geb Shu Nut drums have delivered a great job for Underworld. The album’s production is very good. And closing the album is the song “Canto Da Alcova”. It’s a great track with clean, cavernous vocals. 

For anyone who enjoys death/doom metal, the Amazonian band’s work will be a pleasant surprise, proving that in the tropical country of Brazil, despite the sun, you can also create sad, dragging music without the cold or snow. Only out of passion for the underground and the music of the underground.
