Diretamente do submundo infernal do Arizona para o mundo, esses desgraçados do DEADSPAWN lançaram aqui um álbum que não só procura te estapear no rosto como tem absoluto sucesso nessa empreitada. O mais puro blackened death metal feito com pedras e caos, ódio e fogo. E tudo resumido em oito composições que buscam um equilíbrio entre brutalidade, peso, técnica e pura maldade.

A banda oferece uma experiência que cria uma atmosfera intensa, mas recheada com melodias obscuras em toda a sua duração. Não se trata apenas de riffs tocados como se a própria vida dependesse disso, mas tocados com a certeza de que as notas certas tem o poder de roubar almas com grande facilidade. Esses caras sabem como ser brutos e ainda manter a classe.

O álbum abre com a intensa “Unsleep”, que tem muitos momentos que irão lembrar a sonoridade do Behemoth. Há algo de modernidade na brutalidade aqui exibida, mas que não permite que a música soe estéril. Há um feeling sombrio em sua aura.

A coisa fica realmente séria quando a destruidora “A Harrowing Pantheon” começa. O termo blackened death metal aqui faz muito sentido. Não é necessária uma velocidade alucinante para que ela soe como um tanque passando sobre o seu corpo. A grosseria direta é interrompida por riffs cheios de um sentimento quase palpável de maldade. Na mesma estrada de tijolos infernais segue “Eyes of Savior”, embora um pouco mais direta.

“Eminence Upon the Throne” é uma música que se constrói em torno de linhas mais pesadas e com arranjos que colocam a melodia a serviço da brutalidade. Uma atmosfera densa vai sendo erguida e a interpretação vocal é cheia de poder. A próxima faixa é “Architect of Atrocity” e seus riffs são deliciosamente tradicionais, serras cortando a carne macia. Ela soa muito mais direta do que a anterior.

“Graveline” se inicia com arranjos que me lembraram o Dissection em termos do uso da melodia e da agressividade. A música tem detalhes na composição das guitarras que a torna uma das melhores do álbum.

A envolvente e pesada instrumental “Catharsis” mantém a mesma atmosfera e oferece uma sonoridade cheia de melodia. Acaba sendo a ponte necessária para que o ouvinte siga até “Bile of Gods”. Música com um excelente trabalho das guitarras e velocidade cheia de maldade e frieza. A banda tem muita qualidade e acredito que vai evoluir ainda mais.

The purest blackened death metal made with stones and chaos, hatred and fire. And it’s all summed up in eight compositions that strike a balance between brutality, heaviness, technique and pure evil.

The band offers an experience that creates an intense atmosphere, but is filled with dark melodies throughout. It’s not just about riffs played as if life itself depended on it, but played with the certainty that the right notes have the power to steal souls with great ease. These guys know how to be brutal and still keep it classy.

The album opens with the intense “Unsleep”, which has many moments that will remind you of Behemoth’s sound. There’s something modern about the brutality on display here, but it doesn’t allow the music to sound sterile. There’s a dark feeling in its aura.

Things get really serious when the destructive “A Harrowing Pantheon” kicks in. The term blackened death metal makes a lot of sense here. You don’t need breakneck speed for it to sound like a tank running over your body. The direct nastiness is interrupted by riffs full of an almost palpable sense of evil. On the same hellish brick road follows “Eyes of Savior”, albeit a little more straightforward.

“Eminence Upon the Throne” is a song built around heavier lines and arrangements that put melody at the service of brutality. A dense atmosphere is built up and the vocal interpretation is full of power. The next track is “Architect of Atrocity” and its riffs are deliciously traditional, saws cutting through soft flesh. It sounds much more direct than the previous one.

“Graveline” begins with arrangements that reminded me of Dissection in terms of the use of melody and aggression. The song has details in the composition of the guitars that make it one of the best on the album. The engaging and heavy instrumental “Catharsis” maintains the same atmosphere and offers a sound full of melody. It ends up being the necessary bridge for the listener to follow to “Bile of Gods”. It’s a song with excellent guitar work and a speed full of evil and coldness. The band has a lot of quality and I believe it will evolve even further.
