Das profundezas da mística Ilha da Magia, no ano de 1993, emergiu a horda Black Christ. Em 1995, o grupo adotou o nome Caibalion, consolidando-se como uma das bandas mais respeitadas do cenário black metal catarinense da década de 1990, tornando-se um verdadeiro símbolo do caos e da blasfêmia.
A formação era composta por devotos da suprema arte negra: Adamantos Flagellum Cristus na bateria, Dark Invoker nas guitarras e Carnifex Flagellum Cristus nos vocais. Tanto o nome da banda quanto a nomenclatura deste artefato sombrio estão conectados a simbologias anticristãs e elementos do ocultismo.
O Caibalion lançou a demo tape Kaly-Yuga em 1997, e este primeiro registro reflete claramente a visão de mundo e os conceitos explorados por seus integrantes. No hinduísmo, Kali e Kali Yuga são conceitos distintos. Enquanto Kali é a deusa associada à destruição do ego e à transformação, Kali Yuga representa a última e mais sombria era do ciclo cósmico, marcada pela decadência espiritual e moral.
A demo contém oito hinos negros, rápidos e sombrios. Uma verdadeira manifestação de brutalidade, caos e blasfêmia. Faixas como Ready To Slaughter, Succubus, Might Evil Penis, Infiltration Of Poison In My Vein e The Mist From Revenge apresentam uma atmosfera caótica, fortemente influenciada pelo black metal, mas também permeada por passagens de grindcore visceral. O instrumental é simples e direto, sustentado por riffs agressivos, bateria bate-estaca e vocais insanos, desesperados e demoníacos.
A faixa seguinte, The Praise (Oh, Satanas), tornou-se um verdadeiro clássico do metal negro catarinense, sendo posteriormente regravada e eternizada no álbum Body Hurting Art (2003), da Osculum Obscenum. Vale destacar que os integrantes do Caibalion são os mesmos da Osculum Obscenum. Antes de consolidarem seus nomes no underground extremo, iniciaram sua trajetória através deste poderoso artefato da Caibalion, já demonstrando sua devoção à sonoridade extrema e demoníaca.
A brutalidade, abençoada pela era de Kali Yuga, continua nas faixas finais: The Battle Of Armageddon e Total War. Este é mais um registro que resgata a força, a fúria, a agressividade e a essência do metal negro dos anos 1990 para uma nova geração de ouvintes.

The lineup was composed of devotees of the supreme black art: Adamantos Flagellum Cristus on drums, Dark Invoker on guitars, and Carnifex Flagellum Cristus on vocals. Both the band’s name and the title of this dark artifact are connected to anti-Christian symbolism and elements of the occult.
Caibalion released the demo tape Kaly-Yuga in 1997, and this first recording clearly reflects the worldview and concepts explored by its members. In Hinduism, Kali and Kali Yuga are distinct concepts. While Kali is the goddess associated with the destruction of the ego and transformation, Kali Yuga represents the final and darkest age of the cosmic cycle, marked by spiritual and moral decay.
