Desde a primeira vez que eu escutei o Angel Corpse foi impossível ignorar o trabalho das guitarras daquela banda e o responsável por aquele massacre é o senhor Gene Palubicki, que já passou por algumas bandas e em cada uma delas deixou sua marca como exímio compositor e guitarrista.
O PERDITION TEMPLE é mais uma manifestação musical de Gene e mais uma vez você se sendo sendo cortado em pedaços tamanha a brutalidade e crueza das guitarras desse novo trabalho dessa banda norte-americana. Mesmo tendo sido formada em 2009, o PERDITION TEMPLE chega agora ao seu quinto álbum de estúdio com a mesma selvageria que caracteriza sua música desde o debut álbum da banda.
“Malign Apotheosis” mais uma fez mostra um death metal com uma pegada muito própria, onde guitarras atuam como navalhas afiadas, a bateria cria o cenário perfeito para um apocalipse rítmico e os vocais vão açoitando os ouvintes sem meio termos. A primeira música é “Resurrect Damnation”, que já deixa muito evidente o que você vai ouvir pelas próximas sete composições. O death metal não cessa, ele não perde sua vitalidade, ele não te deixa respirar. É como o abraço mortal de uma anaconda. A cada tentativa de respirar, ela aperta mais um pouco o nó em torno de você, até que a única coisa que resta é o abraço final à morte.
O PERDITION TEMPLE é esse animal selvagem que vai te esmagar e não deixar tempo algum para que você respire. “Kingdoms of the Bloodstained” continua te agredindo. Ainda que aqui a velocidade seja menos intensa, as escolhas em termos de riffs e batidas do baterista Ron Parmer fazem a música soar tão brutal quanto poderia ser. Os solos de guitarra nessa e em todas as músicas em que eles são utilizados são vandalizadas com precisão mortal.
“Death Insurrection” é a definição mais perfeita do que a música do PERDITION TEMPLE é. A complexidade é desconcertante e com certeza não é uma música para ouvidos delicados. Não gosta de agressão musical ? Fique bem longe dessa porra de banda. Você não a merece. Embora toda a produção seja excelente, você confirma isso durante a execução dessa faixa exatamente. Os momentos mais cadenciados se unem com perfeição ao outros momentos mais rápidos. O mesmo acontece com “Malign Apotheosis”, cuja guitarras em alguns momentos no início me lembraram bastante o que o Krisiun tem feito em termos de riffs e agressão. O peso dessa música é realmente um ponto a ser destacado.
As próximas músicas vão se alternando entre riffs afiados, um massacre rítmico e puro caos. “Agony Unto Relevation”, a bestial “Bellum Ab Infernum” e a faixa final “Fell Sorcery”, uma complementando a bestialidade da outra e fechando um álbum que vai do início ao fim massacrando a todos. Três anos de espera pelo novo álbum foram um tempo demasiado… Felizmente Novembro já está próximo e o templo da perdição está aberto para receber a todas as suas vítimas… Ouça esse álbum quando ele for lançado ou sua vida será tão obscura quanto a arte da capa que acompanha essa obra do mais puro death metal…

From the first time I heard Angel Corpse, it was impossible to ignore the band’s guitar work, and the man responsible for that massacre is Gene Palubicki, who has been in several bands and left his mark on each of them as an accomplished composer and guitarist.
PERDITION TEMPLE is yet another musical manifestation of Gene, and once again you find yourself being cut to pieces by the brutality and rawness of the guitars on this new album by the American band. Even though they were formed in 2009, PERDITION TEMPLE now reaches its fifth studio album with the same savagery that has characterized their music since the band’s debut album.
“Malign Apotheosis” once again showcases death metal with a very unique style, where guitars act like sharp razors, the drums create the perfect backdrop for a rhythmic apocalypse, and the vocals lash out at listeners without compromise. The first song is “Resurrect Damnation”, which makes it very clear what you’re going to hear over the next seven compositions. The death metal doesn’t stop, it doesn’t lose its vitality, it doesn’t let you breathe. It’s like the deadly embrace of an anaconda. With every attempt to breathe, it tightens the knot around you a little more, until the only thing left is the final embrace of death.
PERDITION TEMPLE is that wild animal that will crush you and leave you no time to breathe. “Kingdoms of the Bloodstained” continues to assault you. Although the speed is less intense here, the choices in terms of riffs and drummer Ron Parmer’s beats make the song sound as brutal as it could be. The guitar solos in this and all the songs in which they are used are vandalized with deadly precision.
“Death Insurrection” is the most perfect definition of what PERDITION TEMPLE‘s music is. The complexity is disconcerting and it is certainly not a song for delicate ears. Don’t like musical aggression? Stay away from this fucking band. You don’t deserve it. Although the entire production is excellent, you confirm this during the execution of this track exactly. The more rhythmic moments blend perfectly with the faster moments. The same is true of “Malign Apotheosis”, whose guitars at times in the beginning reminded me a lot of what Krisiun has been doing in terms of riffs and aggression. The heaviness of this song is really a point to be highlighted.
The next songs alternate between sharp riffs, a rhythmic massacre, and pure chaos. “Agony Unto Revelation”, the beastly “Bellum Ab Infernum”, and the final track “Fell Sorcery” complement each other’s brutality and close an album that slaughters everyone from start to finish. Three years of waiting for the new album was too long… Fortunately, November is just around the corner and the temple of perdition is open to welcome all its victims… Listen to this album when it is released or your life will be as dark as the cover art that accompanies this work of pure death metal…
