SATAN´S SIGH – Impaled Nazareno (CD 2025)

O black/death brasileiro continua aprontando das suas e vomitando entidades malignas e infernais que existem com o único propósito de causar danos auditivos aos mais sensíveis e afrontar as “hordas” divinas nesse planeta imundo em que vivemos.

O SATAN´S SIGH é um projeto que envolve em sua formação o baixista Vitor Giovanni (Corpus Vermis, Rottenbroth, Venomous Breath, etc) , o baterista Sürtur Impurus (Thrashera, etc) e o vocalista e guitarrista Black SIn and Damnation (Poisonous). Com membros com esse currículo você já imagina que a música vem carregada de maldições e malefícios e não nos enganamos com essa impressão.

“Impaled Nazareno” é um álbum bom pra caralho. Fato e ponto final. É um death/black metal que traz no seu sangue a herança maldita de uma cena que já foi referência para o planeta todo em termos de brutalidade e pioneirismo. Mas só soar brutal não seria suficiente. O desafio é soar brutal, mas que junto a essa brutalidade tenhamos uma energia quase assassina que faz as músicas soarem poderosas.

Todo o álbum é assim. Sobra selvageria, caos, brutalidade e vocais que soam ríspidos e como pregos nas mãos de falsos messias. Ouça a Intro e logo na sequência a pedrada da faixa que carrega o nome da banda, “Satan´s Sigh”. Isso é poderoso e nostálgico até os ossos. Em certos aspectos a banda carrega muito do impiedoso Grave Desecrator, Impaled Nazarene, Sarcófago e até mesmo do metal extremo australiano de nomes como Bestial Warlust.

“Eternal Evil” é como uma marcha marcial e resgata um velho sentimento de blasfêmia e heresia. Música matadora e uma das melhores do álbum. “SxSxSx” é avassaladora. “Cold Dark” vai na contramão da intensidade do álbum. É uma música mais contida e cheia de uma musicalidade quase ritualística,.

Destaco também a faixa que encerra o álbum “…Impaled Nazareno”, uma composição cheia de ódio e desgosto pelo mundo cristão. Rápida, afiada e cheia de malícia.

Muito bom ouvir um álbum com essa pegada surgindo na cena extrema brasileira. Mesmo com todas as limitações e dificuldades somos capazes de criar música maldita de qualidade como o SATAN´S SIGH acabou de fazer. É um álbum que vai ficar um tempo no meu playlist.

Brazilian black/death metal keeps doing its thing—conjuring up evil, hellish entities that exist solely to cause auditory damage to the sensitive and to challenge the so-called divine “hordes” on this filthy planet we live on.

SATAN’S SIGH is a project featuring bassist Vitor Giovanni (Corpus Vermis, Rottenbroth, Venomous Breath, etc.), drummer Sürtur Impurus (Thrashera, etc.), and vocalist/guitarist Black Sin and Damnation (Poisonous). With a lineup like that, you can already imagine the music is drenched in curses and malevolence—and you’d be absolutely right.

“Impaled Nazareno” is a fucking great album. Period. It’s death/black metal that carries in its veins the cursed legacy of a scene that was once a global reference in brutality and pioneering spirit. But just being brutal isn’t enough. The challenge is to be brutal and to carry an almost murderous energy that makes the songs sound powerful.

And that’s exactly what the whole album delivers. It overflows with savagery, chaos, brutality, and vocals that sound harsh and piercing—like nails in the hands of false messiahs. Just listen to the intro and the crushing blow that follows: the title track, “Satan’s Sigh”. It’s powerful and nostalgic to the bone. In many ways, the band channels the merciless energy of Grave Desecrator, Impaled Nazarene, Sarcófago, and even some of that Australian extreme metal vibe from names like Bestial Warlust.

“Eternal Evil” marches forward like a blasphemous parade, resurrecting that old feeling of heresy and sacrilege. It’s a killer track and one of the album’s best. “SxSxSx” is devastating. “Cold Dark” takes a different route—more restrained, filled with a ritualistic musicality.

Also worth highlighting is the closing track, “…Impaled Nazareno”—a song brimming with hatred and disdain for the Christian world. Fast, sharp, and dripping with malice.

It’s amazing to see an album with this kind of energy rising up from the Brazilian extreme metal underground. Despite all the limitations and struggles, we’re still capable of crafting top-tier cursed music, and SATAN’S SIGH is proof of that. This album is going to be spinning on my playlist for a good while.
